2011-04-26, draught at the brauhaus, 8-4-7-4-16=39
Cloudy blond color; medium-sized head. As usual the hop aroma is very nice, deep, dry, biscuity (Hallertau?). The mouthfeel is soft and dry at the same time; good malt flavor, on the crispy side, but also some dusty feeling; very good hopping as usual, powerful (high bitterness) and aromatic; the final as well has a light dusty character.
Beautiful, clean Helles.

Hazy blond color, more cloudy than the Pils, and maybe with more carbonation. It has a powerful hop aroma, very green. Lean mouthfeel, but less dry than the Pils, with some malt flavor (dry and good, a bit crispy) and a very good bitterness level, although better balanced than the Pils. The final is well bitter. One of the few good beers of the region, tasty and better balanced than Vogel.

Hazy deep blond color. Wonderful aroma of hops; I’m told (but without full confirmation) that it’s Tettnang; it’s green and biting, and strong, as I like it. The mouthfeel is very dry, at the same time the body is not missing; there is some malt with crispy and cereals character, but overwhelmed by a potent bitterness, with a hopping of sure qualities, even if not as special as the best examples. Long and dry final. It could be at the top only with some more malt quality and some more grassy aroma hop presence. But as it is, it’s still one of the most enjoyable Helles of the region.

Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy golden coloured. Apples and malt in the aroma. Malty flavour with a hoppy and slightly fruity finish. Fresh.
