Pour @BBF 02/2014, ZO (M). Pours a murky, flat dark pink, giving off little aroma considering its potential 10% fumicity. Basically Gouden Band as seen through a heavy Alvinne monoprism of sour vinosity, i.e. minus the typical Oud Bruin wood complexity, and ironically enhancing drinkability - indeed, for a sour at 10% no small feat.

Bit of a slow gusher. Murky dark brown beer, good tan head. Nose is sharp Flemish sourness and a touch of glue. Palate is airy and light with fine carbonation. Taste follows the nose and adds balsamic vinegar sharpness. A touch of dark chocolate, well buried. Crisp finish. Overall to sharp and gluey for me.

50cl, at 10%Vol, as Chateau Migraine, new exclusive brew Anno 2013, mixed with Mano Negra (brewed at Br. Alvinne), from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sour brew, sour/vinous and slightly woody/roasted, heavy, yet balanced, cloudy, rocky head, good brew, yet expensive!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
First tasted @ ZBF Leuven, 28.04.’13. (Bottle 50 cl.)
Name is not good.
Almost black color, good beige head.
Aroma: woods, tannine, sour. Medium to full body.
Taste: liquorice, complex, sourness, berries, remind me on Rodenbach Alexander, bitterness, alcohol warming and dry ending.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 28/IV/13 - 66 (or 50?) cl bottle @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-433)
Note: according to the brewer, alcohol is somewhere between 10 and 13%, but he’s not sure of the outcome after barrel aging it.
Little cloudy dark brown beer, nice creamy beige brown head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sour, red berries, vinegar, sour red wine, dried cranberries. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: very sour start, citric acidity, bit chemical alcohol burn, red sour berries, pretty fruity touch. Aftertaste: sour, earthy, tobacco, wood, red sour berries, dry, tannins, bitter ending with an alcohol burn. Not a fan of the red wine tannins, nor of the alcohol that is so very noticeable. But in all, still a pretty decent beer.

Draught Nearly black-brown beer, good cream-coloured head. Lactic, liquorice, melanoidins. Sourish, lactic flavour, but also a great deal of wood, tannine-rich. Dry bitterness, with liquorice. Complex, but not completely integrated flavours. Warming, well-bodied, bit oily. Worthwhile try!
