22nd June 2012 Hazy red - brown beer. Pale tan - cream coloured head. Smooth dry palate, a little airy. Mild toffee malt with a whisper of chocolate. Aniseed spice. Subtle coca cola and Dr Pepper. Finishes spicy and dry with mild malt cream and more aniseed. Not bad but the alcohol is obvious.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - DEC 1, 2012
Bottle from Beer Planet Cloudy dark amber color with generous head. The aroma is a bit breadish, with some berries, then some yeast. It’s wildly carbonated, any malt flavor is covered by a stronger liquorice flavor; ordinary bitterness. Not classically Belgian. Not in my chords.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 lembeek (119) - ITALY - NOV 11, 2012
Colore mogano con riflessi ramati. Schiuma abbondante, ma evanescente. Aroma di malti tostati, cioccolato, spezie e note fruttate. Gusto dolce di malto, caramello, cioccolato, con qualche nota vinosa. Stancante!
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rlgk (7440) - Skövde, SWEDEN - SEP 21, 2012
Bottle. Deep amber beer with a rich lasting offwhite head. Malty fruity aroma, glue, plums and figs, esters, spicy notes, cinnamon, milky notes. Fruity flavor, alcohol, banana, spices, metal notes, plums, dark bread. A bit too boozy, that kind of kills the rest of the beer.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 corby112 (2214) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Pours a very dark amber/chestnut brown color with a thin off-white collar that quickly fades into a thin ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Heavily spiced aroma with subtle malt sweetness and faint dark fruit notes. Peppery with cinnamon and candy sugar followed by caramel malt, subtle earthy hops and vinous fruit.
Lighter bodied than expected with soft carbonation and a decent balance of sweet malt, estery dark fruit notes, zesty spice and sweet booze. Slightly syrupy/medicinal with hints of grape, date and raisin followed by candy sugar, pepper and clove. As it warms, some sweet caramel malt and toffee flavor comes out but it’s dominated by the dark fruit and heavy spices.

Sehr prickelnder Antrunk, wenig aromatisch, viel zu mild. So bleibt es auch, keine Aromen entwickeln sich, das Bier bleibt auf der untersten Stufe des Möglichen. Wenig säuerlich. Langweilig! 9/8/8/7//8
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 wimpie133 (380) - Brugge, BELGIUM - JUN 2, 2011
Bottle, 33 cl. Dark brown beer with a light beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, syrup, somewhat sweet and dark fruits. Taste goes the same: nice malty taste, roasted, caramel, dark fruits, light sweet. Tastes like a stout. Aftertaste is nice hoppy, giving an extra touch to the beer. Pallet is OK, but I already had some greater tastes in my mouth. Nice beer, but not a topper.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20 cheap (3373) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 22, 2011
This beer was lsited as eerwarrdw pater belgian strong dark ale. On tap and glad to have a chance to try it! Darker iced tea color. Scummy pond head. Sweeter aroma. This stuff is a little flat but it is quite interesting on the buds. Has a sour but not wild attitude and I like that. Enjoyable fun easy. Slight vinegar backbone. Yes, easy to like. Fun and an overall good beer experience. Rocks! You would never think this stuff was +9%! Be careful! As good as corsendonk pater, i think.
