Slightly chilled 33cl bottle into a tumbler. It had a lot of carbonation, pours as lively as a Duvel but settles down quickly. A nice two finger beige head sitting on top of an almost black body. The head calms down to a thin head with a nice smattering of dark yeasties on top. After it sits for a little bit the unfiltered nature is apparent as the sediment settles to the bottom. Aroma is interesting... sour cherry, woody, and breadlike. Nothing is overwhelming but it is really interesting. Taste has a nice cherry sour to it from the start to the finish. Sometimes there is a little sweetness or smokiness in the middle. The malt is noticeable for a brief moment as well. The finish is a smoky bitterness that lingers for a little while. This is surprisingly light bodied for 9% ABV and a strong belgium ale. The mouthfeel is lively, not quite fizzing and creamy. Most of the cream comes from the strong layer of foam on top. Overall, I’ll probably pick this up again if I see it anywhere.

Geroosterd, citrus, kelder aroma, alcohol, bloemig Niet een bier welke ik nogmaals zou kopen.

Bottle at home. APPEARANCE: brown beer, nice stable beige head, but extreme GUSHER... Alvinne made again, happy to hear though they found the problem behind this recurring event, and fixed it. NOSE: caramel, sweet, malts, molasses? TASTE: caramel, sweet, malts. Oké beer

Bottle at home Pours dark brown , big white head . Smell is very weird ... Green, but not at all in a hoppy manner, more like... earthy , leaves ,caramel, herbs ... Very complex and just weird . Taste is bit bitter, sweet, chocolate, bit metallic, earthy , caramel , malts, the herbal character is there, but way less than in the scent . Very , very complex beer, with the ideal carbonation . aftertaste is herbal earthy , soft and a tad sweet . No gusher, yet made by alvinne ( appatently different yeast according to the description . it IS possible !

Random pickup from a store in Milan, had no idea what it was. Medium brown, little head. Aroma is quite boozy, with chocolate, molasses, boozy dark fruit rum cake. Taste is pretty nice, very enjoyable sweetness with a slick finish. I thought it was great.

Abbey-style massive ale since 2008, with a creamy, yellowish beige head and misty bronze colour. Sweetly perfumed aroma of pear, port wine, dates, apple sauce, candi syrup, thyme, ginger, pepper. Relatively complex taste with candi sweetness, honeyish, oily and full mouthfeel, resinous, finishing in a subtle alcohol warmth with herbal hops that are applied too modestly to balance out the initial candi sweetness. Nice though, I you are into this style.

Draft at the 2014 Brugge Beer Festival on 2nd Feb. Smooth, creamy body with chocolate notes throughout, this is easy drinking beer hides it’s alcohol very well although there is a mild ’spirit’ feel within the taste and aroma below the soft milk chocolate front. Medium sweetness for a chocolate flavoured brew.
