Alternatief’s first, with regular, thick, yellowish white, dense head and peach blonde colour with orange glow, hazy. Powerfully fruity aroma of apricot, melon, mango, tomato, ginger, dough, coriander, lemon grass, sweet paprika, eggnog and some nailpolish-like solvents. Soft malty taste, fruity, medium carbonation, lemony touch, caramel malt base, spicy, mild hoppy finish (though not really bitter) with some warming alcohol. A kind of underachieving tripel, in my opinion.

Stubby bottle 330 ml at home, into a tulip. ABV 6.5% Funny label, expensive for a belgian. Deep golden yellow colour on the body, tall white head, white in colour, froathy, with low retention, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. Aroma of malts, yeast, sugar, a bit of straw. Taste of yeast, sugar, light fruity notes, light alcohol, mildl bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, okay carbonation. Good dryness on the palate. Overall okay, nothing impressive but it drinks good.

Just another Belgian blond beer. Bit more bitter than the usual, but still quite average.

Frothy off-white head. Hazy yellow body. Not very attractive judging on the looks. Aroma of orange and light malts. Fresh moderately bitter flavour with a sweet touch/off-flavour. The touch of oranges in the nose continues in the flavour. Bit unbalanced.

9/11/2010 - 33cl bottle @ home

Pours a pretty clouded orange golden beer, creamy frothy white adhesive head. Aroma holds fruits, bubble gum, sweet malts and a yeast note reminding of cheese. MF: a touch to much carbon at first, this gets better if you wait a little. Medium body. Taste is refreshingly bitter, some toasted malts, fruity, spices. Aftertaste has hop bitters, some citrus and pepper.

Note: This beer got definitely better while warming up! Serve at 8 rather than 6 °C!
