Alternatief’s second beer, with light beige head and dark reddish brown colour. Pear, caramel candy, apple sauce, candied dates, hazelnuts and bitter chocolate in the aroma, fruity taste with sourish accent (a bit disturbing to me), caramelly malts, bit nutty, finishing in a confident hop bitterness. Too bad for the sourish touch, I would have liked this dubbel more otherwise.

Bottle Pours rather clear brown , small white foam that dissapears instantly and was build by very big bubbles . everything completely gone within seconds, carbonation rises just as if it was a coca cola .... pretty poor looking beer , i’m afraid .. Some ’green’ spices in the smell . Overkill carbonation . Feels like a soda too . the taste is a whole lot better though . It is nicely natural- tasting sweet , bit sharp , some earth , some chocolate. everything is very subtile, and thats whats so sad about this . The very awefull carbonation ruins every aspect of the taste ... I’m rather sure this has not been refermenting in the bottle, even though I had a big ’pulp’ of sediment in the bottom .. I might not know even nearly as much as the brewmaster here, but i’d say this is pretty low quality ... If only he could get rig of those problems, cause the taste is not to bad at all ...

Bottle. Brown coloured beer with an off white to brown head and some medium carbonation. Sweet sour balanced roasted and fruity hinted light malty aroma. Full fruity palate. Finish is again rather fruity, sweet sour balanced with a medium ending. Ok.

18/02/2011 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: JUN/2012 (2011-62)

Cloudy reddish brown beer. Light beige creamy head, adhesive and stable. Aroma: red fruit candy ("red shoelaces"), yeast, sour apple, even some bretta (geuze) aroma is present! MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: hop bitter, touch of caramel, sour apple, citrus. Aftertaste: citrus, sour apple, spices. An original and refreshing brown one, that never gets dull.

(bottle, 33cl, a nasty gusher) Cloudy, reddish colour with a big and rocky frothy beige-brown head. Sweet berry- and bonbon-fruity, slightly malty aroma. Sourish fruity flavour, light to medium bodied with a fizzy carbonation. Infected fruity and shy malty taste; sour and tart fruity finish. BB-date was January 2011. 04.XI.10

Bottle shared by Marcus. If memory serves, the bottle indicated de Proef. Or not. Pours hazy brown with a good beige head. Aromas of light sour and mild chocolate. Medium minus body with light carbonation. It is medium sour with hints of cherry and chocolate. Actually quite nice.

sayravai (4673) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 12, 2009
(Bottled, 6.6% ABV) Dark reddish brown with a medium, foamy head (wasn’t a gusher, though). Quite original aroma of caramely malt, red currants, and sweet marshmallow. Flavor of lightly roasty malt, hints of lemony tartness and acidity, burned sugar. Almost medium body, foamy carbonation. Weird, foamy, unconventional... the reason I keep on sampling random Belgian ales.
