3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6710) - Antwerpen, - SEP 8, 2006
Explosive gushing from brown, fully hazy beer with mossy shine to huge, mixed head. Leafy, shrubbery notes from dark malts, nuts or beechnut husks. Sweet and earthy notes, ( and a bit of human sweat°; sweet, but with quite some bitterish notes, combination of hops and burnt malts. Bit meaty esters. Well bodied, slick, alcoholburn. In fact it would be pretty decent if the fermentation were kept in check. But my main question is, again, what was the idea? If it’s obvious to you, Peter, sorry, but for me, there’s nothing new in here.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 12, 2009
(Bottled, 6.6% ABV) Dark reddish brown with a medium, foamy head (wasn’t a gusher, though). Quite original aroma of caramely malt, red currants, and sweet marshmallow. Flavor of lightly roasty malt, hints of lemony tartness and acidity, burned sugar. Almost medium body, foamy carbonation. Weird, foamy, unconventional... the reason I keep on sampling random Belgian ales.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 thewolf (8621) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 24, 2009
Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours a dark nutty amber with a giant, beautiful, frothy, off-white head. Very weird aroma. A bit citric, some chocolate, raisins, some glue, rotten apples. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is weird as well. Starts malty sweet with some citric sourness. Then the rotten apples appear again with a light chocolate finish. Not a very good beer - especially aroma-wise.
