Bottle sample @ 5de Brugs Bier festival. Actually showing as a ’gueuze’ and 11%abv.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Opaque copper with a small, lacy head. Very yeasty aroma with strawberry and ripe fruit. Flavor is slighlty boozy, with wineous oak barrel very evident, leaving the actual beer to play a side role. Some tartness, yeast, dried and fresh fruit. Medium to full body, warming palate with soft CO2. Quite good. 5266

bottle sampled @ Bruges Beer Festival 2012: touch darker hazy orange kind with a creamy head, nose is some 3F style “hoppy” bitterness, tart lemon, Belgian yeast,… - lactic taste, tart lemon, sweet horseblanket, Belgian yeast, clear citrus, hint of wood, musty, hint of sweet white wine somewhere, goes more traditional in aftertaste, bitter, slight hops, Belgian yeast, hint of malt, slightly boozy, tastes a bit like a blend of a wild ale & a strong blond Belgian ale to me, slightly soft carb & easily drinkable, interesting

Very dense & fine yellow head; fully hazy amber-foxy beer with a mossy sheen. Other yeast nose, Curaçao peel, Morpheus yeast. Sourish, lactic acid, citrusflavours, fairly complex. Sharp, acidburn. Not bad at all, but maybe again one that is rather unidimensional.

75cl, at 10%Vol, as Onbekend en Onbemind (brewed at Br. Alvinne), new exclusive brew Anno 2010, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, vinous/sour and slightly woody/alcoholic, heavy, yet balanced, hazy, nearly no head, good brew, yet expensive!

This beer it’s a special version from Piet Agoras on (oak) aged. Taste this first time @ beer lessons with the brewer 18.04.2010. Again from bottle 75cl @ home 03.10.2010. Almost clear amber color, with offwhite to beige creamy head. Aroma tones off wood, sourness, malts. Medium body. Taste nice sourness, roasted malts, fruits, caramel, raisins.

25/09/2010 - 75cl @ Karakterbierfestival Bissegem

Pours a clear amber to light hazel coloured beer. Light beige creamy head. Aroma of sour apple, somewhat smoky. MF is pretty flat, medium body. Taste is freshly sour at first, followed immediately by a lot of roasted malts, more than the colour would let you think. Some caramel, raisins. Aftertaste is roasted to burned malts with some citrus fruits and sour apple.
