out of all the native Belgian Ales that I’ve had, while not my favorite, is still very good. It does have a nice bold fruity taste upfront like many Belgians, and delivers on the palate. It is a little weak on the carbonation, in my opinion, but I can understand others that would think differently. I would still recommend this beer to anyone wanting to try a Belgian, but it’s not 6-pack worthy.

Ambrata, opalescente, schiuma compatta, abbondante, ma non molto persistente. Aroma di malto, caramello, con note fruttate e speziate. Al palato dolce, maltata, con un leggero sentore metallico e un’acidità marcata. Corpo medio, alcol poco evidente. Retrogusto dolce.

An alright belgian style. More like a Saison, or even a Lambic. Smell is very Saison-like, nothing special though. Color is a nice orange, with a white head. Taste is also Saison-like, with a very lemony aftertaste. Sticks with you. Overall, average. Had in the bottle.

Cloudy amber beer with a thick frothy white head. Light malty nose. Light froth dry palate. Mildly sourish malt and a mild fruit and spice. Not bad.

11.2 oz bottle. It pours a golden/amber, not too dark. The head is huge, white, and active and lasts for awhile before leaving thick lacing. The smell is decent, though a bit thin. There is some yeasty goodness and fruitiness in there. There is an underlying stale breadcrust scent. Wow, this one tastes interesting. I don’t know if there is an infection here or if it should be a sour ale. If it is a sour ale, it is a tad bit blunt. It has a big acidic bite. It isn’t necessarily as sour as it is acidic. It has a strong lactose flavor. There is also some lemon. I don’t think this is supposed to taste like this, the website says something totally different for the description. Alas, reading some other reviews it is also sour on top, so I don’t know what to say. Interesting but not perfect. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 05-21-2010 00:34:45
