3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, - JAN 9, 2008
(swing top bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a small, slightly off-white head. Sweet, slightly roasted dark malt aroma with caramel (leaves the impresion of German malt bonbons) and a light spicy herbal hoppy touch in the background. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-carbonated and matured mouthfeel. Solid dark and slightly roasted malty base with caramel and hints of liquorice and herbal notes in the background; sweet-bitter, rounded toast-malty and elegantly hopped finish. The first brew from Altötting that convinces me.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 6, 2011

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUL 5, 2007
Nice red-mahogany color; the head reduces quickly, but leaves a nice lace. The aroma is malty and sweet, as only German Bock are, at times. The flavor is also very sweet, malty (not thick), with sweet caramel and a touch of ripe apples. You may find it oversweet, but I like it, for example to finish a meal.
