Wenig malziger Antrunk, leicht hefig. Spritzig, etwas herb, schnell deutlich milder werdend. Zum Ende sogar entäuschend laff, noch wenig bananig hefig. 12/9/9/6//7

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ brewpub 01/02/13. Pours a hazy, dark auburn with a medium, beige-colored head. Aroma is caramel, banana, wheat, light cloves. Taste begins light sweet, but turns drier as it progresses. It is also a bit sour with apple and cherry. There’s a light caramel and roast there as well as banana. Interesting. Palate is light, a bit mouth-puckering, not much carbonation. Good.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Altstadthof Rote Weisse was listed on the menu as a new beer, and is a 5.1% abv hefeweizen brewed with 50% red malt. It poured a cloudy amber color with a large beige head. It sported a mild banana aroma with hints of caramel. Mouthfeel was medium to light with a soft carbonation. The flavor started out with a nice caramel note, ripe plums and banana. It also had some mild yeast tones and a mild sourness, which lingered on in the fruity finish. A pretty good weissbier, more tasty than the common weissbiers of Bavaria.
