Courtesey of Kraddel. Sampled 375 ml. bottle @ De Rampkrot. Cap says 10/2012 without any clear context. I do believe that this is a BBF date. Sour Imperial Stout mixed with a lovely RIS and the first German RIS most likely. Dark brown, blackish, little bubbles. Nose is oxidized, light vanilla, sweetish sugar, thin chocolate but mostly oxidation dominates. Taste is Pritt / glue / oxidized walnuts, coffee grounds, lots of thin sour coffee ground, oxidation, cardboard, more glue, metallic, sour wild berries,… Near flat, thin sour coffee grounds,…. This is beer is gone – past it. They did it date.

Pours clear dark brown. No head. No gusher... Alvinne though, AND old... how is this possible?
Smell is glue-like maltyness. Taste is metallic, very sharp maltyness. Bit fleshy, funk in a no-good way. Very very metallic. Bit thin and nowhere near what you’d expect from a 10 % beer

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein fast schwarzes Bier mit einer sehr geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch holzig, sehr reife dunkle Früchte, alkoholisch, wenig Kaffee. Geschmack säuerlich, holzig, kräfig malzig, Kaffee, aber die Säuerlichkeit sticht sehr heraus, naja!

Backlog rating. Bottle shared at Chriso’s tasting May 2014. Thanks Paul for this one. Aroma is dark choc, sharp raspberry fruit with sweet caramel edge and some toffee. Flavour is composed of tart, raspberry, gooseberry, dark choc, black forest gateau. Some apple skin in there as well. Dar caramel / black coloured pour with a feeling tan head and an oily texture. Palate is sharp, sweet and sour. Interesting sour stout.

0.375l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a deep dark brown almost black looking one with a bubbly kinda dark brown top. Really strange nose. It’s really really oxidized this. Buttery caramel with Nutella and a floral perfume thing. There is something about this aroma I don’t like. Hard to put words on it. It tastes lightly infected. Sourish tones all the way. Feels gliding in the mouth with a soft carbonation level. Sour leafs with acidic coffee and old wet wood. Okay perfume in the finish. A strange strange thing this. Grows on you though. 15.01.2014

Bottle, shared at Chriso. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is sweet, fruity, tangy, blackcurrant jam, treacle, fruit cordial, roasted malt and toast. The taste is tangy, roasty,earth, some acidity, tart green apple, blackcurrant, touch of bitterness and jam. Medium body and prickly carbonation. Sour stout...but was it meant to be? I am unsure.

Small slightly brown bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is extremely oxidized, butterscotch, baby lotion, caramel, chocolate, dark malts, dark sugar. Taste is kind of sour-ish, almost like stomach acid, sorrel, dark malts, citrus peel, grass, sour coffee, oak, hay. Medium kind of medical bitterness. Just weird, but kind of interesting.
