4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the brewery. This copper ale poured with a decent beige head and a delightlful oak aroma. The wild yeast provides a delicious sourness to the mild base. It is a very subtle but well-crafted flavor that has benefited from 8 months in a burgundy barrel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2009-08-01. Hazy pastel golden body body, modest beige head. (3+) Interesting aroma, fruit/wood/bourbon? (6+) Flavour is a bit muddled, light sour touches, wood, mild malt is odd. Average palate. Meh. Okay, but muddled at times, doesn’t come together very well at times. Bottle at BCTC

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Over-eager to get out of the bottle, the head died down somewhat after a dramatic start. Hazy, red copper colour with some sediment. Intense vinous aroma, quite a bit of woody notes, sour fruit. A lot of berry flavours, strawberries, hints of vanilla, sour fruit, an dry wood, especially towards the finish. Great stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[2412-20090801] Bottle. Barrel-on-the-floor aroma also suggests fruit and beans. Hazy, dark tan orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet fruity malt flavour has a long wood barrel aftertaste. Medium-full body. Average, didn’t really capture my interest.
