Bottled from de Molen. Hazy brownish color, short head. Aroma is vinous, some vanilla, bit malt, bit fruity. Sour taste, fruity. Didnt know it was only 5.5%, was expecting a heavy bomber, as they are usually double barrel oak brewers reserve stuff :P

Bottle. [thank you, Harrisoni]
Pours lightly hazy copper-red with a fine, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has some tart fruit notes, clear green grapes, oak, red wine, light raspberries and a touch of caramel. Highish carbonation, a bit thin mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly tart, some caramel, lots of oak, good fruitiness, grapes, peach. Light lemony and very dry finish. Fine, but it might have fared better with another percent in alcohol?

750 ml bottle bought @ Etre Gourmet. Shared at epic tasting on February 11. Pours dark copper brown with a small creamy off-white head that clings to the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour with raisins, prunes, dates, burnt sugar, lemon juice, ripe grapes, gooseberries, wood and hay. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly sour and tart with orange juice, red wine, grass, dried fruits, red berries and hints of metal, minerals and wood. Mouthfeel is rather creamy and tart. Finish is subtle and slightly sour with lemon peal.

Hazy red brown beer with a short lived creamy head. Light crisp and dry palate. Tart fruit with dry unsweet oak. The red wine is subtle presence providing a richness in the aftertaste. Overall a refreshing beer with medium complexity.

jercraigs (7456) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2009
2009-08-01. Hazy pastel golden body body, modest beige head. (3+) Interesting aroma, fruit/wood/bourbon? (6+) Flavour is a bit muddled, light sour touches, wood, mild malt is odd. Average palate. Meh. Okay, but muddled at times, doesn’t come together very well at times. Bottle at BCTC
