Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a clear ruby-hued brown body with a small beige head. Nose is cherries, balsamic, blue cheese, acetic acid, brown sugar, raisins and hints of rum, wood and caramel. Taste is wood, astringent sour tones, raisins, tart berries, cognac and hints of black currants, whisky and stomach acid. Medium to light body, medium to soft carbonation. Not bad, but not the best sour I’ve had either.

Alengrin (3234) - BELGIUM - JUL 26, 2014
One of the many ’composite’ beers of Alvinne, a blend of Morpheus Dark with Kerasus. Off-white, fairly unstable foam, colour a dark, misty burgundy brown. Aroma sourish and woody, sour cherries, sour cream, white grapes, balsamic vinegar, caramel... Sour and lively fruity taste, lactic acid, caramel malts, toasted and woody accents, hay, finish complex, dryingly sourish, lightly roasted, full with some warming alcohol. Complex as expected and not badly balanced.

Tap at our kid’s wedding, cheers to Mes and Sim! Poured a murky brown with an off white head. Aroma is tart, red wine, raspberry. Flavour has more berries, lovely sourness. All round awesomeness.

Bottle shared by either Yesper or Markus. Pours with a medium hazed cola hued body with a tan head. Aromas are nutty, sour and bready, light diacetyl, whiskey, oak, almost bourbon like whiskey character. Cherry and cola. Flavors are cola, cherry, medium acidity, malty, wood, lightly acetic, a touch of smoke. Medium alcohol burn, moderately dry with fuller carbonation.

0,75 l shared bottle at Melkebaren. Deep amber orange, hazy body with a bubbly small tan colored head. Gushes slightly upon opening. Complex chutney aroma with notes of boozy barrel, but not that complex a flavor although much of what I’ve come to expect from a good sour ale is there. Acidic and a watery vinegary, matured, fruity presence. Medium bodied. On the smooth side of crisp in the mouth.
