Sampled at Gents Bierfestival. Pours brown with some red notes and only the slightest head that was gone in seconds. Smell is tart with lovely woody notes and also a hint of cherries Just a shame that the sample was a bit too cold to pick up the full aroma. Not much carbonation going on, but a lovely palate indeed and very warming and comforting finish. Must have been a lovely wedding!

Sample from a 0.75 L bottle. Near-clear ruby brown body. Mostely diminishing beige head. Vinous aroma, fruit and oak with a certain sourness. Taste is light sourish fruity. Medium malt body, oakey and light vinous. Mild bitterness. Light to medium body. Slick in the mouth, low carbonation level. Fruity acidic endnotes.

Bottle shared at my 30:th birthday tasting on May 5 (30 år av Surt). Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours very dark reddish brown with a brownish white head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and fruity with plums, cherries, bilberries, whisky, wood, red wine and hints of wood, burnt sugar and vanilla. Taste is tiny sweet, sour and tiny metallic with prunes, raisins, red wine, cherries, burnt sugar, red currants, vinegar, wood, grass and hints of whisky. Mouthfeel is tiny dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is tart with black currants, cherries, lemon juice, lemon zest and hay.

Bottle at "30 år av surt", on May 5, 2012 in Göteborg. Bought at Alvinne biershop. Brune foncée, col léger beige. Arôme de cerises mûrs, léger malt et whisky bien présent. En bouche, fruité, et whisky note cerise sur un beau profile de barrique est très agréable, pointe poivrée sur un pétillant modéré. Encore une fois, le côté Morpheus ressort bien en avant et fini sur un fruité et malts foncés.

Bottle (75 cl). Roasted and nutty aroma with some notes of red berries, barnyard, and wood. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Semi dry, medium acidity, low bitterness.

Murky brown color, very small tan head. Acidic, red berry scent. Sour, acidic, stomach acid taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, harsh bitterness.

Version I (not in the festival programme), at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Cloudy dark ruby colour, low beige head. Complex vinous aroma, notes of red wine vinegar, mild spices and oak. Moderately acidic flavour, notes of red wine vinegar, lacks hops.

(Bottle) Pours dark brown with a small head. The aroma is fruity,cherry-like, tart, nutty, bready, caramelly, medical, moldy, earthy, woodsy, resinous, citric and mild chocolaty roasted. Hints of whisky. The flavour is dry, medium sour, citric, fruity, robust Katy and light whisky-like. The mouthfeel tart with a light carbonation. Near medium bodied.

30 år surt. Pours cloudy mahogany with a small off white head. Arma is sour sweet a bit honey and malty. Flavor similar to aroma, not so much to get excited about of.

Sampled at 30åravsurt Murky brown. Earthy aroma; mouldy. Pretty sour flavour. Medium bitterness.
