3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light but persistent gushing to huge, amber-beige head, pretty stable over opaque, dark brown-red beer. Roasted, but also fruity-vinous aromas; malts getting more and more dominant, always roasted. Much of the same in the mouth: fruity, yeasty, very roasted, with whiffs of nuts, sweat, solvent. Warming up, more roast & burnt, and also the sweaty component (no doubt a yeast product, cannot name it). Even later, this flavour retreats in favour of a more hoppy, non-USA hopsflavour. Bit aggressive MF, near-astringent, but very well-bodied and warming. Tastes very young, and if I’m slightly disappointed now, it’s definitely one to retaste with a new bottle in, say, a year or so...

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark chocolate and candy sirup taste combined with smoked taste. THe light sour taste that comes through spoils this otherwise very nice beer a bit.
