Bottle from de Bierkoning. Very dark brown with an enormous tan head. Pear and chocolate aroma. Very fruity, lots of pear and dark fruit, but also hints of chocolate flavours. Decent, but a bit sweet.

Dark chocolate and candy sirup taste combined with smoked taste. THe light sour taste that comes through spoils this otherwise very nice beer a bit.

Bottle @ BBF. Faint aroma of yeast, spices and fruit. Flavour is quite bitter of hops with some fruit, liquorice and alcohol. Quite narrow for a barley wine. Nice but nothing special.
