Bottle at Papsø tasting. Pours light brown with a big tan head. Caramel, a little dark fruit and spicy aroma. Flavour is caramel, dark fruits spices, yeast and a little hops. A bit over carbonated and foams in the mouth.

11/25/11. dark brown pour with a tan head. it smells of caramel, belgo yeast, raisins, spice, bread and booze. tastes the same but with an added salty note half way through. it gets sticky and annoying after a bit.

Courtesy of madmitch76 pouring up opaque amber with brown hues and tan head. The aroma offers up sweet minced prunes and raisins as well as lesser amounts of dates and brown sugar. The taste is similar with raisins, prunes and cherries. In the background I get brown sugar rimmed with some spicy hoppiness. It gets fruity and prune juice like after a few ounces are consumed.

Dark red pour, off white head. Aroma is sticky sweet, caramel, toffee, apple. Flavor is sweet, interesting yeasty flavor, some light hops. Ok.

(Bottle shared by Dave at Black Friday). Pours dark mahogany. Aroma is dark fruits, candied sugar, and caramel. Taste is sweet with some belgian yeast notes. Medium bodied with a sticky texture. Decent stuff.

Bottle: Very very big and long lasting head! Deep dark brown colored beer. Smell barleys, hops, flowers, toasted malts, sweets like nuts, caramel, light chocolate, prunes and a hint of vanilla. Taste is good bitter, spicy, toasted barley, praline, hint of alcohol (not that traceable), caramel, some sweets, herbs, leaves, toasted malts and nice bitter. A slight hint of something light sour and yeasty, darker ingredients, slight hint of chocolate and some prunes. Herby bitter toasted barley aftertaste. Medium to fuller carbo, tingly mouthfeel, medium to full body and a texture between creamy and watery.

2010 Vintage/ 75 cl. Bottle/shared@Kulminator: huge gusher, like someone poured dishwashing liquid in it & than shook it around, the head just kept on creeping out of the bottle for min. 5 minutes, not the first time I am seeing this happen with an Alvinne bottle – the Morpheus yeast, perhaps?, otherwise, dark brown with a, HUGE beige head, smells like overripe dark brown fruit, dark malts & caramel, first you get the more Strong Belgian Dark Ale flavours & more into the aftertaste you get more Barely wine flavours, overripe dark fruits first, slightly spicy, bit herbal, afterwards, dark brown sugar, caramel, slight molasses, dark malts, very slightly roasted, slight chocolate bitterness, warming but wouldn’t call it boozy, especially given the strength, slightly thick, malt body

Think I’ve tasted this at Alvinne CBF 2011. Dark brown color, white head. Nice roasted smell, very nice taste and mouthfeel.

(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy medium brown with tan head. Nose of wax, crayon, Belgian yeast, fruity, raisins and cream. Taste is an alcohol bomb, raisin, orange, umami, and spicy. Medium thick body with a nice fruity linger.

Sampled @ ACBF 2011. Color dark dark brown with big head. Aroma roasted, sugar, chocolate. Taste dark fruit, sweet, roasted.
