Light yellow, unclear, a white head, fine lacings. Aroma moderate malty (light fruity, citrus), light yeasty and hoppy. Medium body.
probstk (695), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Oct 6, 2008 330 ml bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Slightly hazy golden with a decent white froth.
Aroma: Somewhat sweet, floral honey, light citrus and cereal, a bit fruity – tree fruits, funky banana esters, some yeast/dough.
Palate: Medium body, virtually flat.
Flav.: A bit like the nose – there is a bit of that floral honey and fruitiness, a bit of citrus, some biscuit and some bread sough, restrained esters in the background; some alcohol on the finish with light tartness that seems balanced by the light sweetness.
Light and pleasant. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 18, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2008My Bottom Line:
Citrusy hoppiness, doughy yeast and banana esters zig-zag in and around the delicate cereals of this light-bodied Belgian Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the hazy yellow.
-The minty hop bitterness is soft but firm.
-The relaxed carbonation increases drinkability.
-A hint of iodine passes by in the nose; not a good sign of things to come with this batch, I suppose?
Bottle; best before July ’09. rederic (1444), montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 9, 2008 330ml bottle, hazy blonde hue, with a fluffy white head, leaving laces, yeasty, bready dough nose, with a spicy floral hop, with a hint of citrus fruitiness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, zesty, lemony character, with a bready, light honeyed pale malt accent, with a flowery hop citrusy, leading towards a thick, lingering hop bitterness finish. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 3, 2008 Bottle from Dranken Geers. 2003 bottle. Hazy gold, thin white head. Some yeast, some lemon fruit, little bit of syrup. It’s fine in mouth, quite thick, then a lemon/sourish finish. Very interesting, good character. Very drinkable and that sourish edge on end really works.
