4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 DanielBrown (2717) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2004
Trappistenhius, Ghent - another bottled choice of my my pal, stolen by me - what a way to end a tremendous night’s drinking in Ghent! Beautifully balanced - less sweet than Troubadour, but more hoppy on the finish. Herby, fizzy, wheaty - hint of a sweet aftertaste. Smells sweeter than it tastes - delicious aroma in fact. Nicely weighted.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 16, 2004
Citrus (lemon) aroma. Beautiful golden color, white rocky head, very nice lace. Sweet, citrus, nicely hopped, very well balanced, sparkling. Much like a lighter and sweeter Duvel. A beer I could enjoy all evening, maybe even all weekend.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Boutip (3451) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2008
Bottle: Poured a hazy blonde ale with large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral Belgian malt with some spicy yeast notes also discernable. Taste is a refreshing mix between some floral malt with some light sweet notes and a peppery and spicy yeast finish. Full body with good carbonation and no alcohol could be detected. Refreshing and well done for the style even though finish could have been hoppier.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 9, 2007
Bottle, 6.5%. Nicely spicy and citric aroma. Cloudy yellow/orange colour. Very big white head, quite stable. The flavour is very citric, like fresh lemon juice. There is some bitterness in the finish staying very late. High carbonation. This reminds me of witbier, very refreshing.
