Bottled, alc. 6.5% (vintage 2003)
Dark ruby brown/red, good creamy tanned head. Woody, licorice aroma with some spices, which I can only descrbe as "inner rubber of bycycle wheel". Soft palate, licorice flavours, oaky notes, long bitter aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) I don’t know what the term "pico" means, but it sounds small. At the listed address, there wasn’t any sign, that this was a brewery. Maybe beacuse the beer is brewed at the De Graal in Bakkel. But we found this at a local beer-store. Beautiful red-brown color. The beer is filtered, but not pasteurized with quite a lot of yeast sediments. Very spicy with 6 different malts and 3 hops. Light brown head and good lacing. Quite typical dark ale, but with a rather sophisticated aromatic character. 050804

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl bottle, bottled in February 2004. Light brown (mahogany), turbid. Pleasant but not very lasting beige head, big yeast flakes. The aroma is of malt and cocoa with some toffee and hop flowers piercing through it. The flavour is soft and malty, with burned malt, chocolate and some gooseberries. Thick on the palate, leaving a dry mouthfeel. Little bitterness.

Tap, ZBF 2004. Ruby red, low off white/beige head moderate condition. Low fruity malt in the nose, sweet and fruity in the mouth with a hint of metallic tannin developing. Low fruity finish. Uninspiring.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread and raisins. The color is brown and it has a fine beige head. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit, plums, and corriander. Which gives way to a very hoppy dry end combined with hints of wood. The body is quite thin - especially for a 7% ABV beer.
