thewolf (3983), Kolding, Denmark May 14, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Tønden, Haslev.
Pours deep brown with a nice, steady, creamy beige head. Aroma is powerful, lots of toffee maltiness, yeast and light oxidation. Very high carbonation, letting the beer down a little. Flavour is nicely sweet, with a fruity tartiness to it. Finish has chocolate, toffee and raisins. It gets a lot better as it settles in my glass.
Maria (4439), Thisted, Denmark Aug 12, 2008 Vintage 2003. Dark brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is sour with notes of candy sugar and a little roasted malt. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, light citrussy bitterness and sourness, candy sugar and the overall impression is a bit more bitter and yeasty than expected – and a bit unbalanced too.
