750 ml bottle from czar at blind tasting. An opaque, orangeish brown with a nice beige head. Aroma is oak and vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, tons of fruits, burnt caramel, tons of oak. Finish is somewhat herbal, roasted. Touch of booze, but in a nice, warming way. Lingering hints of spices (cinnamon, coriander). Average body. Very, very solid offering!

From a 500 ml bottle shared at home. Pours a dark cola brown with an off white head. Aroma raisins. Flavors of caramel, plums, dark cherries and candy sugar. Smooth and mellow, with low carbonation.

@ ABT blind tasting. murky brown with a small light beige head, some retention. roasted caramel, oak - tad too present, smoke and fire, chocolate, some raisins, some phenols and plastic notes (!). soft carbonation, medium body - almost cloying. nice use of barrel, relatively complex.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 tap @ borefts - taken from notes. Pours dark amber with small head - aroma of nuts, plums, raisins and some vinegar hints, alongside the touch of red grapes. Medium body, sweet , small madeira hint. Very drinkable, like!
Had the bottled version + another draft pour at Struise. Beautiful bourbon notes, toasty, bread and hints of caramel. Upped from 3.6 to a decent 4.2

Bottle. Murky mahogany pour with spotty bubbles on the surface. Aroma is tart with vinegar, wine notes, wet wood, dark fruit and caramel. Taste is slightly tart fruit, ripe fruit, dark fruit, balsamic vinegar, caramel notes, wine, wet wood, booze and dessert cake. Body is medium with sparse carbonation and mild warmth. Ends with more tart fruits, dark fruit notes, wet wood, balsamic vinegar, booze and caramel notes. Tasty but lacking a bit body-wise.

Bottle, bought @ Zombier, Spain.
Pours deep brown, bordering on black with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has dark chocolate, oak, red wine, raisins, plums, light vinious. Medium to low carbonation, very oily and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour is complex, dark toasted caramel, dark chocolate with prunes and madeira. Lingering oak and red wine astringency. Lingering dry and vinious finish. Lovely, strong and complex.

Bottle @ Alvinne Proeflokaal. Brown coloured beer with no carbonation and almost no light brown head. Cherry porto fruity malty hinted aroma. Rather creamy full palate. FInish is sweet alcoholic, again porto fruity hinted. Stronge, special, lovely.

Cant drink a lot of this in one sitting. Smells and tastes very nice but I can only handle it in limited quantites. I was struck by that there is almost no carbination, sometimes I forgot I was drinking a beer and felt like I was drinking a port wine.
