Aroma dry, caramel core restrained, stewed pear, tart red fruits, oak, leather, dry leaves, lightly roasted, some alcohol. Flavour is mid-sweet at first, caramel, stewed fruits, baking apple, oak, vanilla, alcohol, tart fruity quality. Finish is quite dry, apple pie and wood. Bitter, woody, a bit alcoholic. Medium body and very soft carb. A little boozy but dry and good!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
16.9 oz bottle I won in a friendly wager by betting against LeBron. This beer is very dark and dense with small red hues and a little off-white head. Aroma is sweet with distinct vinous notes. Plums, brown sugar, rum, licorice and oak are all noted. The body is huge and the 14% abv is adeptly masked. This is a little too sweet for me to totally go nuts over it, but it is a very tasty beer. The notes of wine are distinct and bold, mixing with sweet, dark fruits; licorice; molasses; and oak. It’s crazy how much vinous character is imparted. The yeast adds a nicely subtle fruitiness. This is a big and bold beer, 6 oz. may be enough for me, though I can’t say getting through the whole bottle was an unpleasant experience.
