Bottle shared. Deep brown pour with thin off white head. Aroma is good, tons of boozy, brown sugar, molasses, light chocolate, light leather notes, winey notes, tons of dates, dried fruits. Taste is a bit boozy, sweet, nice fruity malt, tons of dried fruit, dried pineapple, dried raisins, plums, red wine. Palate is full bodied, a bit slick. Tasty.

Red wine, forest fruits, wood, molasses in aroma. Pours dark amber with beige head. Taste is medium sweet with caramel, cherries, raisins, plums, black currant and wood. Medium body, soft carbonation, alcohol only warms a throat. Overall good sipper.

On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. Murky brown body with a small beige head. Nice aroma of malt and chocolate with some acidity. Flavor has a fine balance between sweetness and acidity, quite sweet, but does not feel sticky in the mount. Taste of dark malt, caramel, chocolate, a hint of vinegar and warming alcohol, more alcohol in the aftertaste. Full body. This is a really tasty and complex brew.

0,5 L bottle. An unclear deep reddish brown body, under a ring of sand-colored bubbles. Sweet dark caramel and dark dried fruits to the nose. Some barrel notes and faint alcohol too. More than medium full. Thick and juicy in the mouth. Rich malt flavor. Sweet, with burnt caramel and jammy dark fruits. Distinct barrel notes, and a good amount of bittering hops in the backbone. Warming, rich bitter-sweet aftertaste. A balanced, tasty, and dangerously easy drinkable Quad.

Bottle, at HaandFestival 2012. It pours a more or less black body, at least dark, dark brown, and is topped by a finger-thick beige head. The aroma has less alcohol than I’d expect from the ABV level, with some oak, dark berries, caramel and roased malts. Sweet and warming on the palate, wtih caramel, berries, some roasted malts and a hint of something reminiscent of pancakes. Full body, finishing bitter and warming, with a pleasant sweetness. Overall, too warm and sweet, but it’s a complex and tasteful beer anyway. 120504

The beer is dark amber in color with an off-white head. A touch boozy on the nose with some caramel, wood, bourbon, and maple syrup notes. Just very sweet, but pretty nice. The flavor is similarly heavy on the sweetness. Tons of caramel, maple syrup, and vanilla. A bit of sweet wine and wood, too.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark brown color ale with medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet malt based with lots of residual sugar and some dry fruit s notes with some easily discernable woody notes and light vinous feel. Taste is also dominated by some woody notes with a big sweet malt base with toffee and dry fruits notes. The red wine notes are also easily discernable without being too tart. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with not much alcohol being apparent. Complex but also a bit too sweet to appreciate a large quantity of that liquid.
