22 oz. bottle. Caramel, sugar, oak, dry fruit aromas blended with alcohol. Color is dark brown with almost no head. Once poured, the head is gone and no lacing left. Flavors are sweet and syrupy from the oak with dried fruit and caramel showing through.

(Rating #4774)

Opaque dark brown beer with a good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and airy. Little dry. Mild minerals. Touch of aniseed but otherwise the alcohol is well hidden. Light toffee malt cream. Dried fruits. Mild spice and a touch of sherry. Finishes crisp. Interesting beer, was expecting heavy and sweet but this is light and crisp!

Bottle shared at Craft Clerkenwell. It pours deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy, wood, berry, vinous, jammy, dirt, vanilla and toasted coconut. The taste is sweet, juicy berry, dark fruit, vinous, jammy, red grape, wood, alcohol warmth, earth and mild toast with a dry, vinous finish. Med-full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Pretty jammy and vinous. Pretty decent, but perhaps a touch sweet.

Bottle. Pours a deep clear red color with no head whatsoever. Aroma of malt, fruits and alcohol. Taste is of malt, caramel, molasses, spices and lots of dark fruits. Perhaps a hint of vanilla too. It’s very sweet but unlike the aroma the alcohol is well hidden (well, I can tell it’s strong because my teeth hurt, lol). Long aftertaste of malt and fruits. Body is above medium and carbonation almost nonexistent. Good, goes down very smooth, but not the best Quad I’ve had.

Bottle: Murky brown, small off-white head, solid sweet fruity (plums) and molassy nose with a tinge of alcohol; sweet flavour with a discredt bitterness, full bodied, what else; sweet plummy finish, malt and molasses, too plus a tinge of alcohol. The perfect light thirst-quencher…

Bottle. Murky mahogany pour with spotty bubbles on the surface. Aroma is tart with vinegar, wine notes, wet wood, dark fruit and caramel. Taste is slightly tart fruit, ripe fruit, dark fruit, balsamic vinegar, caramel notes, wine, wet wood, booze and dessert cake. Body is medium with sparse carbonation and mild warmth. Ends with more tart fruits, dark fruit notes, wet wood, balsamic vinegar, booze and caramel notes. Tasty but lacking a bit body-wise.
