Bottle. Clear dark copper, with a ring around the edge of the glass. Very sweet, caramel, raisin, brown sugar, and oak. Too sweet for my taste.

Pours a flat, cloudy amber color. Intense sugar and caramel aroma along with wood, vanilla, and white wine. Mild dark fruit notes, mostly raisin and plum. The flavor is almost cloyingly sweet. Heavy on the wine and vanilla and oak. Just as heavy on the brown sugar and caramel, too. Lots of dark fruits and maybe a touch of oxidation. Just way too sweet.

Thanks to raveskdr for sharing this one. Served in an Alvinne snifter. Pours a fairly-clear copper-brown with a short off-white head that goes away fairly quickly. The nose brings quite a hefty amount of malt with notes of bread, brown sugar, and caramel. There’s a bit of dark fruit in the background. Flavor has a long sweetness with plenty of malt, though surprisingly little alcohol given the ABV of this one. Body is full and a bit creamy with light carbonation. Nicely done.

Bottle. Dirty amber brew with a slight off-white head. Nose is fruity and vinous with a good amount of oak. Flavors of dark fruit and wood - ABV is well hidden although this is quite sweet.

Bottle with an extremely high fill. Pours with a haze amber-copper hued body with a frothy white head that lasts. Aromas are of honey, floral, isoamyl acetate (banana), alcohol, brandy, barrel, wine, funky, strongly sweet, boozy, maple, canned peaches, and prunes. Flavors are of prunes, dates, dark fruits, big yeast notes, alcohol, brown sugar, burnt molasses, apples, banana fosters, dates. VERY SWEET and very boozy, brandy, wine. Medium esters, candied apples. Bitterness attempts to balance. Still very sweet, stewed fruits, low cereal notes, peaches and stone fruit. Boozy, slick, big bodied, alcoholic with light carbonation. Good complexity but oppressively sweet and big!

Pours a dark mahogany colour with an off-white head. Aroma of toffee, grass, oak and sweet berries such as raspberries. Some brett-like sourness as well. Flavour of sweet caramel, raspberries, vanilla and lovely oak. Some brett-like sourness again here. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a long, warming, fruity and light sour finish. Great.

Aroma is surprisingly light with some berries, sugar and vanilla. Flavour is sweet with some stinging and warming alcohol, berries, fruits and sugar. Hides the ABV very well even though it can be observed.

Pours clear copper color with small head. Aroma of sweet berries, ripe fruits, yeast, caramel malts and toffee. Flavor of ripe fruits, caramel, sugar candy, toffee, mild spice notes and vanilla notes. Full bodied, very sweetish and berryish palate with a strong fruity and berryish aftertaste. Alcohol hidden surprisingly well for such a high ABV.

BBE: December 2013 - Pours dark orange/reddish brown with a foamy white head. Aroma of berries, malts and syrup. Taste is extremely sweet with notes of berries, syrup, stingy fruits and malts. Finish is malty and sweet and sticky with notes of berries. Alcohol burns through too much in the finish. Way too sweet for my taste.
