UPDATED: FEB 18, 2014 Pours Black. Pure black light will not pass through this beer. Smells slightly smoky, cherry. Taste of bitter lemon. Bitter grape. Bone dry finish. Not for a weak palate. One of the bitterest beers I've ever had. Really good beer!

Pours unclear dark roasted chestnut with a beige head. Aroma is earthy with the wild yeast notes. Flavor brings some smoke and barbecue with big wild yeast and nail polish remover.

Pours the funkiest looking thick chunky pour I’ve ever seen. Mocha head with excellent retention increases to fill tulip. Meat and sour fruit aromas. WTF - difficult to get under the thick syrupy head. Tart with dark cherry and grapes upfront leading to a puckering oak and leather finish.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2013 750ml bottle. 2012. Think pour that almost looked gel like. Aromas of tart dark fruits, vinegar, oak, and earthy. Tastes of vinegar, tart fruits, cherries, caramel, and vanilla. Slightly sweet with a tart finish. Thick body.

On tap. Dark brown with almost no head. Huge floral, cola, caramel, wine barrel, oak and vanilla aroma. Very bright full bodied palate. Tastes of sour grape, roasted grain, lemon, vanilla and oak with a dry, acidic, lip puckering citrus finish.

slight beige head that disappears without lacing. dark red colour. aroma has some notes of leather and something i get with of the alvinnen beers (perhaps the morpheus yeast?). taste is sour, leather, ash with a rather peculiar slight astringent aftertaste (wood?). resembles their morpheus wild but this is milder imho. the abv is quite well hidden. bottle 33 cl

Pours hazy brownish ruby with minimal tan head. Nose is tart fruit, oaky earthy notes. Tastes complex, fruity, tart, with some lactose and yeasty finishing flavor. This one is great.

Draft sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew. I guess batch 1 was brewed in the old Heule brewery. Since then, Glenn mentioned it is at least batch #3 or 4 of the Freddy.
Brune foncée, pas de col.
Arôme aigre dominant sur une pointe fruité noir-rouge de vin. Le tout me appelle plus la prune.
Palais est aigre, nettement plus fruitée que la Megablend. Note aigre de pruneaux d’Agen, raisin sec. Fini malté avec ce côté aigre presque de veille croute de fromage, lactique avec ce côté typique de levure Morpheus de Alvinne.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 Re-rate: 33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 07/2018. Dark brown, very little red hue, no head. Sweet vinous, kriek, brett, USA sour, light acetone, vinous malt, tart, quite USA style. Taste is taste cherry, thick sour chocolate, vinous malt, brett, USA sour batch punch, sour fruit punch, quite a bit of chocolate, thick malt, hint acetone,… Thicker, bit sparkling open softdrink carb. very delicious, really liking it. Great stuff, beat a lot of USA style sours in my opinion. Mano Negra is completely unrecognizable.
Sampled draft @ ZBF 2013. Batch 1 was apparently brewed @ the old brewery, batch 2 & apparently further batches were all made @ the new one. This is batch 3 or 4… but 2 & further are the same recipe. Very dark brown with a red hue, blackish, no head. Nose is sour tannins, wine, wood, chocolate & cacao powder, some mocha, light sourness balanced by a sweet base. Taste is sour tart cherries, red wine & red wine barrel, chocolate malts, mocha, cacao powder, tannins, hint vinegar, sour berries,… Fuller body, flat,… Nice.
