(11.2oz bottle best by Jan 2014 thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy red-brown with no bubbles. Nose of funky oak, banana peels. Taste of oak, tannins, black currant, well balanced, and easy to drink. Great.

On tap at Pizza Paradiso in Georgetown, Washington, DC. Clear, deep mahogany arrived with no head and trivial lacing. Aroma is sour and fruity and sweet. Taste is sour with citrus and dark fruits and a touch of caramel as it warms. Light body and negligible carbonation. This beer seems to have gotten less complex with age. Where did the cherry, vanilla and wine flavors and aroma go? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: Another overly vinegary sour dark ale. Meh.
How: Bottle 330ml. Wedding gift from Alvinne’s owner Glenn, thanks a lot Glenn!
The look: Very dark burgundy topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: Nose is oak sourness, vinegar, prunes, vanilla. Taste is very vinous, an enormous amount of sour tannic oak, acetic acid, fresh prunes, distant chocolate cake, some bourbon-like notes, sour cherries. Juicy body with minimal carbonation. Finish is a big bite of acetic acid that burns the side of the tongue and the inside of the cheeks. Overall this was just another overly vinegary dark sour ale, there’s a dozen new ones just like this one coming out every week nowadays. I had a hard time drinking my little 330ml bottle. Sad. This Cuvée Freddy Batch 2 is a letdown, sometimes a sequels suck and sometimes it is great, for instance I found that "Anal Intruder II" was far better than the original "Miracle on 34th Street."

At ACBF 2011. Clear dark brown, few bubbles on head. Some sourness on aroma. Decent flemish sour, drinkable with some biscuit.

Bottle, bought @ EG, Belgium.
Murky black pour, head is fizzy even as it looks creamy from a distance. Becomes a thin, beige rim. Aroma has heavy acetone, plums, red grapes, light liqourice, some chocolate, light red wine. Low carbonation, fine dry grainy and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, lots of plums, raisins, light acetone tartness, some mild funk. Light oaky notes. A bit of dark chocolate and nice fruity tart finish with some roasted malts dryness. Nice elegant beer.

head: none
colour: dark redish brown
smell: vanilla, sourness, oak, something that reminds me of gueuze, caramel, something salty
taste: start is pretty darn sour , then comes a flat irony taste along with some malts, when swallowed a nice subbtle oaky character with hints of red fruits hit in , also a hint of chocolat and touch of vanilla , texture is oily , end is a little bit dry ... great beer !!!

Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Dark brown pour that turns red in the light. Has a bubbly edge. Aroma is cherry sweet with a sharp oaky sourness. Not offensive but soothing. Flavor is tart on the edges on the tongue with a cherry sweetness that finishes into a gentle oak. So I’ll go on record as saying I don’t much care for sours but I love this. Well done.

Sampled on 5/7/2011. I am assuming this is the version we sampled, it had Aged in Oak Barrel on the label. This wild/sour ale pours a dark brown amber color, with a touch of ruby from a 330ml bottle. Small to no head. The aroma is tart, woody, oaky, fruity and then some more tart. A medium bodied wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of tartness and wood, with some fruit and cheery in the background. Very little carbonation, but what there is seems right for this beer. There is a lots going on here, very complex mix and match, but the tartness and the wood is in the forefront. The tartness kind of builds as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.
