Dark brown ale with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma is roasty, vinous, chocolaty, caramely and acidic – chocolate covered sour cherries, French oak, red wine and caramel. Smells very much like a porter that was transformed into a wild ale. Full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. The flavor is caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts and sour cherries. Finishes tart, tangy, moderately roasty and mildly bitter

On tap @ HaandFestival 2013. Dark brown-hued orange, tiny white head. Nose is mild lactic sour tones, oak, grains, hints of caramel, cinnamon and light cereals. Smooth. Taste is similar, with lactic sour notes up front, then grainy caramel and wood in the back. Hints of red wine and grape peel. Medium body and carbonation. Nice sour.

From a bottle shared at home. Pours a very dark, almost black, reddish brown with a thin off white head. Sour cherry aroma. Flavors of red fruits and oak with a tart finish.

11.2oz bottle - pours brown with large bubbly head. nose is Styrofoam and cork - smells promising. Flavor hits you with sour berries and wood. aftertaste is smoky. makes my nose sweat like OJ does when I see Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Definitely vinous. Sour. Maltiness becomes apparent as it warms. I think I am done with this style. I could just get malt liquor and drop sour gummy worms in it.

Bottle from Greens. Poured an opaque dark burgundy, damn near black with ruby highlights. No carbonation, still. Gorgeous nose. Slightly fruity and sour with just a touch roast. Vinous from top to bottom. Flavors were tart on the verge of puckering. Dry finish led to a refreshing beer. Would have liked some carbonation. Good though.
