UPDATED: MAY 5, 2010 Bottled at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm (as Cuvée Freddy Bourgogne OA, 8%). Cloudy dark brown, minimal airy head. Vinous, buttery Rodenbach-like lactic nose. Tart and vinous with light spritzy mouthfeel and above medium body. Lactic and cherryish, dominated by welloaked red wine. Fresheningly sour, deepand comples with lots of tannine bitterness. Only slight roastiness remains from the Mano Negra. Feels like a deluxe Rodenbach Grand Cru with more concentrated flavours and a delicious addition of dry oaky red wine. Despite the rich flavuors it stays elegant. I really, really enjoyed this one!

Bottle (gift from Travlr - huge thanks - bottle says 8%). Vinegar and vinous berry aroma - smells spectacular. Opaque brown with no head. Slightly sweet fruity wine flavor up front with a dry/musty finish. Nice body. Very smooth and nicely balanced. This is a sour I could drink every day.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a very deep amber pushing a deep brown with a medium bubbly creamy off white head. Aroma of tart cherries, oak, lactic sourness, light wine. Really great aroma. Flavor of tart cherries, red wine, light vinegar, chocolate, vanilla, oak and an overall sourness.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de. Deep dark brown color. Vinous aroma with grapes, cherry and oak, like a fortified and matured Rodenbach Grand Cru. Odd mix of dried fruit with coffee as initial flavors, challenged and conquered finally by an upcoming tartness. Vinous flavors, oak, cherry, roast, tobacco. Extremely complex and the balance is questionable, but this beer is so good.........

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Dark brown ale with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma is roasty, vinous, chocolaty, caramely and acidic – chocolate covered sour cherries, French oak, red wine and caramel. Smells very much like a porter that was transformed into a wild ale. Full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. The flavor is caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts and sour cherries. Finishes tart, tangy, moderately roasty and mildly bitter. World class brew courtesy of darkguardian!

This is a lovely sour beer. Nice change of scenery for this tasting. Caramel, but sour. Prunes and other dried fruit.

In bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a thin light tan head. Lovlely sour nose with barley, hay, horse-blanket, balsamic vinegar and chocolate. Balsamic vinegar flavour upfront with coffee, chocolate, barley and hay. Quite highly carbonated with a fair CO2 prickle. Great!

Hazy red brown color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, cherries, wine, light vinegar, leather, and wild yeast. Taste of cherries, wine, wood, caramel, and a sour finish.
