Pours a medium dark amber color. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and maybe a hint of fruit. Flavors of nut, sweet malts, and some mild hop bitterness towards the end.

Attempt at a historical English porter, made with five malts, two hop varieties and Alvinnes own Morpheus yeast. Thin, light beige head, very dark brown colour, almost black. Coffee grounds and molasses in the nose, candied figues, balsamic vinegar, chocolate, toasted bread. Dark fruits in the mouth, oily mouthfeel but thin due to the low alcohol content, chocolatey and toasty malts, dry finish, roasted bitterness, bit watery, yeasty.

Bottled. Wildly gushing upon opening, causing a major sanitation operation. Near black with huge lively head. Aroma of licorice and blackberries. Dry with light body and spritzy mouthfeel. Coffee and licorice with some citric hops. Long bitter finish.

Dark brown, almost opaque color, big brownish head. Aroma is sticky sour with horse saddle notes. Light bodied. For Alvinne typically tart, but this is not funky like a pale version. Just tartness, citron and hops. Lacks character.

Surprisingly strong flavoured and bitter. Dont know if the bottle was bad because it made so much beige foam all the time even if it waited half an hour on the table half empty,

33 cl. bottle @ home. BBF 09/2014. Procured from Willems. Put it in the fridge before opening, virtually no gushing,… success. Very dark brown, beige head is big bubbles, quickly vanishing to nothing. Light kiwi in the nose, light powdery chocolate, flowers, nicely hoppy, lovely bitterness, light berry, sweet malts, cacao, some chocolate,… Taste is bitter kiwi, white grapes, lightly floral, lightly ashy chocolate, cheap cacao powder, light spices and kiwi, hoppy bitter finish, small hints of sourness,… Very effervescent,… Nice dark version of the regular one. Could use less carb. Although might be quite watery then, not sure,…. This is not quite there and big jumbled but enjoyable never the less with positive sides.
