Bottle. Pours a hazy golden beer with a humongous white head, so big that I couldn’t pour it at once. Aroma is very yeasty, little malty. Kind of bready sourness as well. Flavour is very harsh and bitter, not my style at all. Overcarbonated, bitter in a wrong way... no me no likey..

Pours golden color with a large frothy head. Aroma of yeast, citrus fruits, some herbal notes and mild hops. Flavor of yeast, lemon, mild goose berries, grassy notes, herbs and hints of spices. Very high CO2, bitter lemony palate with a mild sourish finish. Decent.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a clear pale golden colour with a massive foamy head. Aroma of pale malts, strong floral hops and grass. Flavour is very strong and bitter with floral hops, grapefruit, biscuit and some tart spicy notes. Medium bodied, foamy mouthfeel and a crisp, bitter, floral finish. Very tasty.

330ml bottle (K Kamppi, Helsinki)
Pours a hazy golden orange, with a huge ice-cream-floaty head. Lovely crisp dry hoppy aroma. Very spicy and grainy. Classic Alvinne. Clean crisp dry bitter taste, attenuation very high. Palate a little watery, but only in a refreshing way, no watery aspects to the taste. Carbonation pretty high. Pleasant bite in the finish. Very drinkable and tasty 3.8% beer.

0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Hazy yellow color with thick sorbet head. Sweet and spicy aroma with pepper, menthol, menthol, cheese, tart berries. Dry, bitter and spicy flavor with nutty maltiness . Strong lingering bitterness towards finish. Oily palate, medium body. Spiciness and strong bitterness is not such a great combination.

Bottle from Ølhandleriet. Amber/golden, a bit hazy body, good white head, lasting. Crispy aroma of malt, lime, grapefruit, subtle sourness. Fruity and bitter taste, hoppy with citrus fruits, though a very thin body. Hardly notable malt profile, though at 3,8% that’s forgivable. For a beer of this low strength I find this a very good option.

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #609(_uu): BBE 07/2014
Foam fills my big Tripel Karmeliet ‐glass and there is still beer in the bottle. Aroma has urinal cake, earthy notes, some lemon, grassy notes and hints of caramel. Flavour is sourish and tart with urinal cake, earthy notes, biscuits and hints of caramel. Definitely not your typical bitter – more like a Belgian ale. And actually quite close to Orval.
