Shared 33 cl bottle at Cardinal. Fingerthick off-white, dense head on a misty orange golden body. Spicy malty honey fruity hoppy pollen nose. Sweet flavors give way to a salty hoppy bitterness. Over-carbonated but still smooth. Pungent, full bodied and alco warm.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2013 330 ml stubby bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.9%, 115 EBU. Hops are Magnum, Chinook, Columbus and Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Hazy deep golden colour, huge white head. Lovely aroma of fruity hops, particularly citrus and tropical fruits, hints of pine trees. High level of carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is very sweet with a yeasty spiciness, but also very bitter. Distinctly hoppy throughout. The aftertaste is very bitter, nearly medicinal.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Gainsbar. Golden coloured with big white bubbly head. Aroma is big citrus hop, Belgian yeastiness, quite sharp, little bit funky, some bread malt. Taste is bitter, lemony, slight plastic taste. With yeast added, less bitter and slight caramel sweetness, bit biscuit, bit bitterness at end again. Nice. Bit of bubblegum too.

Gaspar Ale. 11.2 oz. bottle, shared (I probably consumed about 7 or 8 ounces of it). Consumed on 1-23-13. Strong, complex, sweet, sharp, tart aroma features honey, red apple, mustard, red wine vinegar, cherry, and golden raisin scents. I smell the candy sugar as I sip. Pours a hazy/cloudy brass with a moderate amount of beige head. Sour, dry, tart, salty taste features mustard, white wine, vinegar (not in a bad way), green apple, crabapple, and cinnamon apple pie flavors. Dry, mineral-y aftertaste. Medium body. Unremarkable palate aside from the good aftertaste. Overall, it was aromatic, tasty, memorable, and enjoyable; a good beer. 8/3/8/3/15=>3.7

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep golden hazy. Enormous white, fluffy head. Smells very saison-ish with the fruity yeast notes and clove. The taste reveals a rather ridiculus amount of hops was made to brew this, because this is very bitter. really a fusion of ipa and saison this. i’m not sure how well they are pulling it off tho, but interesting at least. body is medium and somewhat slick. carbonation is high

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Copper hazy, huge beige head. Smells of citrus, grass, yeast esters, spice and pepper. Moderate sweet, quite fruity, herbs and pepper also here. Heavy bitter, green apples and grass, some resins. A quite interesting beer; very well hopped with belgian yeast, nice fruity aromas and flavors. Super grassy finish. Love this one; nice to try a hoppy beer with real yeast character for once.
As a note; my bottle don’t say Hallertau, Golding and Saaz. It’ says Magnum, Chinook, Columbus and Mittelfruh

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Huge offwhite head slowly turns coarse. Slightly hazy deep
yellow body with carbonation. Light earthy fruity aroma.
Dry-sweet earthy herbal spicy taste with peppery dried fruit
notes. Mid-bodied. Dry, and slightly bitter, coriander and
pepper aftertaste with cinnamon and dried fruit notes. It’s
quite nice, but a bit too sharply spicy and too bitter. (0.33l
bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cerveza bastante amarga para su estilo. El color es rojizo oscuro y la cantidad de alcohol no es excesiva. Los posos son abundantes así que mejor dejarlos en la botella.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2oz bottle. Pours an amber golden color, that’s totally hazy with the thick mass of particles in the body - an effect that I enjoy, personally. Generous, foamy off-white head with good retention that fills the tulip to the top perfectly. Decent lace. Nice complex hop aroma... herbs, spruce, some floral. Medium to bigger body, good lighter smooth carbonation, more dry finish. Some good citrus in there, leaning to the lemon side. Nice zesty taste. bit of alcohol, but it works fine for this belgian strong ale. Good belgian yeast flavors. Some mediterranean herbs and spices. Tasty, interesting belgian ale
