Bottle, bought @ Tønden, Haslev.
[my 200th Belgian Strong Ale - the first style to reach that number.
Pours hazy amber with a giant, frothy off-white head. Long duration and fair lacing. Powerful aroma. Lots of yeast, esters, apple, lemony hops, vanilla and coriander. High carbonation, rather creamy. Flavour is dominated by alcohol, caramel, plums and raisins. A bit too much alcohol.

Maria (8571) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2008
Hazy, warm golden with a huge head. The aroma is spicy, malty and fruity. The flavour has sweetness and notes of malt, spices, citrus and a light, dry bitterness. It’s quite charming.

33cl bottle from beerplanet.eu mild gusher. cloudy orange, smooth fluffy beige head. strange aroma of hay, grass, exotic fruits, brett, sweet malts, flowery hops. flavor is dry, old-hops-hoppy, faint hay, hoppy bitter, but old hops. vaugely reminds me of orval. I never really liked very dry beers if they are not either hoppy (with taste other than bitterness) or sour. just plain dryness and brett like notes are boring as i see it.

Bottle. Orange color, hiuge frothy head. Strong citrusaroma. Hoppy, of course. The flavor isn’t immensely bitter, but the hop character is obviously omnipresent. Oily, citric hops, lemongrass, licorice even. Immensely long aftertaste, should be because pouring this beer causes problems.

330 ml bottle from Vintage Cellar. Hazy amber color with a 5-finger white head. Aroma is yeasty caramel with very light funk. Medium body with frothy carbonation. The head is rocky. Flavors of ripe light stone fruit and slightly roasted caramel, and a touch of funk. The bitter bites the edges of the tongue. There are nuances I lack the words to describe. The finish has hints of sugar overborne by hop. It is so kind to the mouth. Wish it had been a 750 ml bottle. It is so, so underrated. Jerks.

Bottled. Dark golden coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Spice, sweetness and some fruits in the nose. Flavour is herbal, full of alcohol, sweetnes and spice. Has light yeast notes. Is medium bodied. Ends on a sweet and fruity note, with distinct alcoholwarming on palate and lips. Nice.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2007 Bottle… Mostly clear, light amber ale with a huge, rocky, white head. Excellent retention. The heavily phenolic aroma consists mostly of fresh bandages and clove with lesser notes of citrus, fuzzy and tropical fruits. Bitter, tangy flavor of fresh cardboard. Awful… drain pour. Medium-bodied and bone dry. Finishes bitter and astringent to crazy extremes. growler provided the bottle and joined me in dumping this ghoulish beer down the drain! Not quite as bad as several beers I’ve liked less and polished off anyway. Right now there are too many other good beers lying around to waste our time finishing this one.

(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, effervescent orange-golden coloured hue with a blond and huge foamy head. Yeasty and phenolic spicy aroma with something reminding me of baking yeast/mushrooms, accompanied by delicately fruity and herbal notes. Moderately bitter flavour with a shy malty sweetness, medium bodied, dry mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. Extremely yeasty and spicy taste with herbal and mildly fruity hops; dry and bitter finish with an alcoholic bite. Does not fit together imo. 21.VI.11

from crackedkettle.com - cloudy orange colour with tons of particles floating within, giant pale beige foam and a nice lacework; aroma of almonds and apples, slightly dusty and spicy; juicy palate, full-bodied and with a fair bitterness; the finish is herbal, bitter and fruity, lasting very long - a beautiful gift

Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a hazy golden with a large frothy white head that was fully lasting and produced good lacing. Heavy malt, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture. Full balanced fruity bittersweet flavor with the same long finish with a very small alcohol tone. Good well balanced warmng brew.
