From bottle at the Trappist in Oakland. 115IBU from Belgium? This is definitely worth a sample. Unlike the American brewers who are trying to out hop-hype themselves and rip my stomach in half, this one is focused on smooth bittering hop flavor, which just goes to show that 115IBU means something different in Belgian brewers minds than American brewers.. The bottle says, hallertau, goldings and saaz. The goldings are defeinitely very prominent in the bittering, somewhat with saaz on the finish, but i would have not guessed hallertau. Light golden color, medium carbonation, nice and dry finish. More spicy than citrus in the hop flavor, very delicious all in all. Thanks to Aaron for the pour and suggestion.

Thanks to Davy from whom I received this bottle yesterday at a very important occasion. Poors a light amber colored beer with a big head and good lacing. According to the brewer, today 24-10-06, belgians most hopped beer (115 IBU) or a wink to american hoppy beerlovers. I suspect even some dry hopping as well. The aroma is evidently very hoppy with some hints of caramel. The taste is overwhelmingly hoppy with some alcohol notes. The aftertaste is all hops and quite bitter.

Hazy golden with thick creamy, almost meringue head. Strong fruity hop, some malty sweet aroma. Pretty bitter, quite alcoholic and slightly sweet. Almost watery and almost cloying.

Bottled 33cl. Murky golden with impurities floating with a creamy, nicely lasting white head. Great hop profile. Flawless balance. Yeasty. Hints of tangerines, lemongrass, vanilla and pineapple throughout. Good bitterness. Long complex finish. I reveled in every sip- the hop components are extremely well integrated. Complex, subtle and mindblowingly pleasant.

redlight (2265) - Winter Park, Florida, USA - AUG 1, 2008
draft @ redlight redlight. Citrus hops with hints of pine and sweet malts on the nose. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a thick white head. There is a very different hop flavor, a very floral bitterness, honey citrus with a spicy fruity bitterness. A lovely flavor profile. A great beer!!

Bottle - 330ml. Hazy golden body with average carbonation and a huge off-white foamy head. Lovely malty/hoppy aroma with fruity, coriander and honeyish hints. Its sharp and strong hoppy taste carries herbal and grainy notes. Ends with a robust bitter/sour finish. Not for lagerboys.

[Sampled at DØE-festival, Valby, 2007 with svoger.] Well. what a hoppybomb. It’s like xx-bitter and poperinge hommelbier. Maybe some more fruits and freshness, but in the hoppy end. Nice and very okay!
