[Sampled at DØE-festival, Valby, 2007 with svoger.] Well. what a hoppybomb. It’s like xx-bitter and poperinge hommelbier. Maybe some more fruits and freshness, but in the hoppy end. Nice and very okay!

Bottled 33cl. Murky golden with impurities floating with a creamy, nicely lasting white head. Great hop profile. Flawless balance. Yeasty. Hints of tangerines, lemongrass, vanilla and pineapple throughout. Good bitterness. Long complex finish. I reveled in every sip- the hop components are extremely well integrated. Complex, subtle and mindblowingly pleasant.

draft @ redlight redlight. Citrus hops with hints of pine and sweet malts on the nose. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a thick white head. There is a very different hop flavor, a very floral bitterness, honey citrus with a spicy fruity bitterness. A lovely flavor profile. A great beer!!

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Fluffy off-white micro head with excellent retention leaves sheet lacing as it concaves. Grass and earth aromas. Heavily carbonated and full with upfront pepper, which turns candi in the middle. Lasting bitter resin hop finish.

This one exploded all over the place. Seems like Alvinne has problems with bottling lately, some of their bottles aren’t sealed properly which results in (very slight) leakage and Mass Asplosion when cracking caps. Awesome looks, golden/amber/orange/mahogany with a fluffy head. Piney aroma with strong notes of Goldings hop and the typically dusty Alvinne-style maltyness. Dry and bitter, with a good malt backing, well balanced & well done. The IBU amount seems a bit unrealistic - either that, or the crappy bottling screwed up the hoppiness of this particular bottle - because it didn’t scorch the tongue nor burn the nose like a full-on American DIPA. Moderate/light carbonation, substantial mouthfeel. Very tasty, might be even better when fresh & not affected by bad bottling.

Bottle at home. Orangy colour with crazy, fast-rising foam that stayed on point forever and ever. Tangy nose, citrusy also. Bitter in scent and taste with strong spicy finish. Porterish, heavily drinkable. Alcohol content well disguised below lacy foam. Quite lovely.

Huge head. Almost amber colour. Aroma: hops; taste: hopbitterness all over. The bitterness remains a long time in the mouth. Some people refer to this kind of beer as hop-tea. I just love it.

Beautiful nose of bright grassy hops. Mint. A bouquet of wildflowers. Very pretty. Pours cloudy dark orange with a creamy white head. Holy bitter!!! Quite a different bitterness than an American I2PA. Fresh, grassy hops. A hint of sweet toffee. Light malt developing. Refreshing hoppiness. Perhaps just a tad unbalanced. Lively carbonation and quite firm on the palate. Finishes dry. Very nice!

Pours a cloudy ruby/orange color with golden burnt orange hues when held to a light source and a thick foamy off white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Minimal lacing. Very hop forward aroma, especially for a Belgian Golden Ale. Hints of estery light fruit, mostly apple and pear with a noticeable alcohol scent. Smooth with some slight creaminess that balances out the bitter hoppiness and crisp fruity, estery alcohol presence. Hints of apple, pear and grape with some chapagne like soft carbonation. As with the aroma, this beer is surprisingly hoppy and bitter for the style, but instead of overpowering the other flavors, it’s provides a nice level of complexity.

On tap @ redlight redlight. Pours a cloudy golden with a large white head. Nice lacing on the glass. The nose on this is peaches, very citrusy, slight bitterness, bready yeasts drift through as well. Sweetish in flavor, a graininess, fruity malt, citrus and apricot hop flavor, and a very large bitter ending. This bitterness grow through the sip. Well carbed, balanced dry finish. Quite nice, one of the most bitter hoppy Belgians that I’ve had. Achieves a very nice balance between sweet body and bitter hop dryness.
