A very nice looking beer, very cloudy with floaties, and an enormous head that sticks around. The aroma leaves something to be desired but has some floral and carmel hints. The taste is plesant, but nothing to rave about. There is some honey, a little carmel, some lactic sourness, and a lot of hop bitterness, the hops however don’t lend much more than bitterness to the flavor. This is indeed worth drinking, & I will try other beers from the brewery, but I will likley not buy this one again.

Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before March 2003, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savoured on October 8 2008; eye: creamy white head made up of rather small bubbles and that looks like melting ice cream when it falls, quite a bit of lacing, golden, hazy, lots of effervescence; nose: yeast, light fruity, light spices, alcohol, caramel; mouth: alcohol, fruity, alcohol, layer of caramel present throughout, alcohol warmth, pepper, finale rather powerful in alcohol with a lot of astringency making it unpleasant, astringency is rather present, lightly sweet, quite bitter, full body, foamy texture, average carbonation; overall: disappointing FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant mars 2013, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savourée le 8 octobre 2008; œil : mousse blanche crémeuse formée de bulles plutôt petites et qui ressemble à de la crème glacée fondue lorsqu’elle tombe, pas mal de dentelle, dorée, voilée, bonne effervescence; nez : levure, léger fruité, léger épices, alcool, caramel; bouche : alcool, fruité, alcool, couche de caramel présente tout au long de la gorgée, chaleur d’alcool, poivre, finale plutôt puissante en alcool avec une bonne astringence ce qui la rend désagréable, astringence plutôt forte, légèrement sucrée, pas mal amère, corsée, texture mousseuse, carbonatation moyenne; en résumé : déçu

A bottle tasted at Kaunis Kampela. Slight apple, honey and yeast in the nose. Thin head. Slightly hazy pale yellow brown colour. Nice hoppiness. Quite strong hoppy aftertaste with some hints of honey.

11.2 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Amber/orange with lasting puffy beige head and lace. Spicy hoppy yeasty tobacco aroma. Fruity sweetness, apricot nectarine mild tartness with underlying tobacco bitterness and spicy bitter finish. Medium body and medium carbo give spicy effervescence. Fairly complex and nicely hopped. I like beers like this and I like this one.
