BlackDonald (696), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA May 11, 2008 Great little citrus hop nose, there are also some hint of fruit and yeast in there as well as a light bit of spice. Pancake maltiness, somewhat doughy. This is actually quite enjoyable. Although the only drawback is the presence of alcohol in the flavor and finish as it warms, it does end up turning into a bit of a pine sol type aroma and a medicinal flavor.
ultraspank (855), Dublin, Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2008 Had this from a bottle at the winking lizard on betherl rd after a nice afternoon at Inniswood Metrogardens with my good friend Heather. The fact that it was followed by an Irish Car Bomb is of no consequence. Faint but fresh nose of spice, fruit, wheat, and sawdust. Pours a hazy honey. The creamy white mostly lasting head has fair lace. The fruity flavor is has a moderate alcohol bleed. The middle has decent depth and bitterness. Full flavored if not particularly well balanced. The medium body is soft and surprisingly dry at the finish. sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2008 The Dan Journal #190. Tasted 7/3/08. 330ml bottle. Hazy with a pale golden hue. Nice, yet mild hoppy nose. Citrus and orange aromas. Medium bodied with a nice palate. Tight effervescence with a moderate bitterness. Good malts and good citrus grapefruit hops. Solid. Ernest (4178), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 7, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy light amber, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain/bread, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (basement), with a light note of peach.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Kinda boring, but the appearance and mouthfeel are quite nice. CanIHave4Beers (143), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jul 7, 2008 A very nice looking beer, very cloudy with floaties, and an enormous head that sticks around. The aroma leaves something to be desired but has some floral and carmel hints. The taste is plesant, but nothing to rave about. There is some honey, a little carmel, some lactic sourness, and a lot of hop bitterness, the hops however don’t lend much more than bitterness to the flavor. This is indeed worth drinking, & I will try other beers from the brewery, but I will likley not buy this one again. nearbeer (1076), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 6, 2008 330 ml. Cloudy, orange iced tea color with a huge, lasting and creamy head. Aroma of spicy orange, caramel and acidic bread yeast. Flavor has the same elements, but they are overpowered by woody-herby hop bitterness. Medium body is smoothish and dry.
