Horizontal tasting of Alvinne Hop Trilogy

Hazy orange-amber color; massive carbonation, therefore huge creamy head, more than the others; the bottle keeps gushing.
There is more aroma of spicy Belgian yeast than hops; later there is a mild aroma of fruity hops, very light, not especially Simcoe, with some apricot jam; also some light aroma of cereals.
Dry mouthfeel, dry caramel flavor; very strong bitterness, oily hops, but no special hop qualities.
The final is obviously very strong and long, quite harsh, excessively bitter (like the other two).
Somehow without cohesion; just plainly extra-bitter. A lovely hop like Simcoe is wasted here. My least favorite.

Countbeer (1932) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
Bottle: Those damn Alvinne gushers... Big creamy head with some brown yeast particles on top and mixed in, on top of a hazy orange colored beer. Smell yeast, biscuit, hop, citrus, peach, grape, apricot, sharper herbs and something light wikd yeasty alike. Taste lots of peach and apricot with a good hop bitter coating. Hop, hop fruits, grape, apricot, peach, hop bitter, Soap good bitter, bit too much overpowering bitterness but overall pretty good. Low to medium carbo, creamy mouthfeel with a tingly spicy touch, medium to full body and a light creamy texture. Decent but a bit strange.

Gr0ve (1875) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 15, 2012
750 ml bottle. Amber colour. Gusher. Tall white off-white head. Sugary aroma with crisp clear hops. Light bodied. Feels like a blend of IPA and Belgian tripel. Very high carbonation level. Had it not been for the hops that would definitely have been a tripel. Not bad, but a little unbalanced and hot entirely what I had expected.

_angst_ (992) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 22, 2012
Bottle courtesy of Dazz3 shared at tasting. Gusher! Pours hazy pale golden with a huge white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with dill, orange peal, yeasty esters, orange juice, lemon zest, overripe (almost rotten) tropical fruits and hints of oxidation. Taste is tiny sweet and slightly bitter with orange juice, bread, pineapple, pine and grass. Mouthfeel is tiny watery and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with citrus fruits, pine and grass. An old bottle according to Dazz3 but has still held up ok. Would like to try it fresh some time.

Boutip (3451) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 26, 2011
Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a super huge foamy head with perfect retention and lacing (somewhat of a gusher). Aroma consists of citrus hops with some light tart and funky notes. Taste is a unique mix between some Simcoe hops notes of citrus and piney with some light tart and funky yeast strain and a semi-sweet Belgian malt backbone. Body is quite full with excessive carbonation. Interesting hybrid between an American IPA and a Belgian ale with a somewhat wild yeast strain.
