75cl, as ’Kerasus Bourgogne OA’, new exclusive brew Anno 2010, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sour Kriek, yet refreshing, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, good brew, but very expensive!

On tap @ Pre ZBF. The aroma has cherries, wood. Hazy, red coloured beer with a thin head. The taste is slightly sour, has cherries, woody tones, perhaps some vanilla. Good balance there. Nice brew.

#26 Papsoe Blind tasting 21-08-2010. Average light reddish fizzy head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Hazy reddish amber color. Aroma of sour fruity notes. Light milky acidic, with some wood and berries like notes. Mild leather and barnyard feel. Light bodied with a soft carbonation and dry texture. Moderated acidic with some sweet flavor as well. Lingering sour fruity finish. 8/3/7/3/15 = 3.6

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a reddish color with an off-white head. The aroma is heavy on the dark fruit with some brown sugar and oak aged notes. Fairly complex and very enjoyable. The aroma is more of the same. I get some lightly tart dark fruit, strawberries and cherries, as well as some oak aging notes. The tartness is fairly minimal. The beer is easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A solid pour into my Cantillon tulip produces a pink tinged, tan colored head that is one-finger thick. The beer has a concentrated red body to it that is fairly hazed and shows a bright, maraschino cherry color to it when held up to the light. The aroma smells of sour cherries, graham crackers, red wine berry like notes, some light spicy wood character as well as earthy wood notes and a touch of phenolic / plastic notes towards the finish.

The beer tastes sour as it first hits my palate, though it is not as sour as a Lambic. The beer is very dry and very light bodied. The flavor finishes with a spicy oak character and a bit of tannic astringency to it. Light cherry flavors are noticeable, though not as much as was found in the aroma, and this is accentuated by some tartness and floral character. Quite refreshing due to the light body, this might even have been a bit too watery if not for the tannic oak structure. The red wine character plays a definite role here with the wine like berry notes, an oak character that is very reminiscent of a red wine; it is very evocative of a red wine, even if it is a very small / faint one.

This is quite nice, even if it is a touch on the thin side. Definitely let this beer warm up, the wine character becomes much more apparent as it does and really makes this quite nice; there is even a touch fo funkiness that starts to come out (slightly cheesy and a bit musty). This was a nice surprise!

On tap at CP&K at Alvinne meet the brewer night. The nose is sour cherry, sweet strawberry, metal and nettles. The taste is tart cherry, granny smith apple, lemon sherbet, egg and farmyard. It’s really smooth, slightly astringent and has a long dry finish. Another top quality sour ale from Alvinne.

Sour cherry and persimmon nose, with the cherry very prominent. Rose colored, no head. Tart cherry flavor, light wood, and hints of rose petals. Delightful level of sourness, good degree of complexity.
