DruncanVeasey (7249) - NUNEATON, Top 22, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2010
Bottle. Nose askew with buttery, strawberry Campino notes at first, but a puckering, lambic cherry tartness teases out as the head dissipates. Pours burgundy with a fleeting, creamy pink-grey collar. Tart but manageable, with mellowing wafer and cream, and a fresh, acidic base of Drie Fonteinen-like Brie, tart funky cherry and mildew. Impressive. Could maybe just do with the wildness and yoghurt-like sour turning up a notch: the final impression is a little watery. Still, a pretty convincing, lambic-like sour cherry beer.

Taste thanks to Gene!
bright red, thin white bubbly head. Light cherry, cinnamon, thin and citric flavor, cherry syrup, bit of paper. Fruity, puckering finish, light heat and acetic acid. Body highly carbonated, well balanced.

gyllenbock (4861) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 28, 2010
Bottle, vintage 2009. A lot of yeast in the bottle. Nice dark red color, small head. Quite sour aroma of cherries and soil. Sour taste of cherries, wood, soil, semi sweet. A lot of carbonation. Drinkable but not that exciting, a bit watery mouth feel. The aftertaste was rather long and dry.

Pours out dark redish. Medium small to medium head, should hold some longer. Smell is sourn-sweet fruits. Taste is sour cherish, almost nothing else. Some alcohol, lightly spiced. Not my beer, but knew that when bought the bottle.

kkearn (1165) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 1, 2010
Bottle. Burgundy pour with a bit of a chestnut hue, topped with a medium sized pink head that rapidly fades away completely. Very enticing aroma with black and sour cherry; nicely complimented by wood and earth. Flavor begins with fairly intense sour cherry, which gives way to vinous red wine notes. Background notes of wood, strawberry, cranberry, acetic acid, and earth. Carbonation is a bit too active. Overall, a tasty and very easy to drink sour ale.

Wow, really impressed with this one. VIntage 2009 acquired from Alvinne’s e-shop. 33cl bottle. Poured into Westmalle glass, thought the cherries’ etching would compliment this beer! Minimal head which disappears leaving a wild cherry image. Opaque and murky. Aroma of intense cherries and tart, stunningly blended. Really intoxicating with a slight tart edge. Lovely. Can taste cherries, tart, a small amount of acid, wild berries, some candy sugar and sharp fizzy finish. The flavour of the cherries is fantastic, really full bodied, some warming alcohol and a long finish. The malts are quite sweet but I’m really enjoying this. Would like to have this oak aged in the barrel from a dispenser. Really excellent.

TBone (12815) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 25, 2010
Bottled 33cl (Alvinne shop, vintage 2009, BB 06/2015)
Dark cherry red color, not much head. Aroma of wood, cellar, tart cherries and syrup. Sour taste, thin a bit watery mouthfeel. Tart cherries with hints of oak. Ok but very one-dimensional.
