Bottle@Home. Strong tart cherry aroma. Deep red, small pink head, fair lace. Very dry, light sweet, cherry, tart. A bit thin but very nice.

Tap at the Gingerman. pours rusty burgundy with this soapy head. Tastes of oak, cherry, berry, and Pinot. It’s tart but not too sour. Some Pickering finish and clings to roof of mouth. Enjoyable

Martinus (866) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2011 Dark red colour, almost like a bourgogne. Slightly hazy, with a fast disappearing pinkish white head. Aroma very much of sour cherries. Some light almond / cherry pips. Light vanilla. Flavour is delicate and light. Sour cherries. Hint of sweet. Bit oily texture.
Reminding of the sour cherry (krieken) sauce that is quite common in Belgium, and spot on how I like this sauce (tart and with background of the cherry pips). But Kerasus just lacks any pronounced flavour of beer or lambic. Very enjoyable nontheless.
(From 33cL bottle, bottled 2008)

Bottle. Rich red color with no head and minimal carbonation. Cherries in the nose. Nice tart cherries in the sip and aftertaste. The perfect sour for someone looking for an introductions to this style.

Wow, really impressed with this one. VIntage 2009 acquired from Alvinne’s e-shop. 33cl bottle. Poured into Westmalle glass, thought the cherries’ etching would compliment this beer! Minimal head which disappears leaving a wild cherry image. Opaque and murky. Aroma of intense cherries and tart, stunningly blended. Really intoxicating with a slight tart edge. Lovely. Can taste cherries, tart, a small amount of acid, wild berries, some candy sugar and sharp fizzy finish. The flavour of the cherries is fantastic, really full bodied, some warming alcohol and a long finish. The malts are quite sweet but I’m really enjoying this. Would like to have this oak aged in the barrel from a dispenser. Really excellent.

Bottle. Pours a slightly brownish, red liquid with a pink head. Aroma is a bit acidic and quite sweet with loads of cherry lollipop and cherries. Maybe a bit synthetic, definitely very fruity. Taste is actually rather dry, with lots of cherries and a hint of salad stalks towards the end. The acidity is quite held back, and the beer unfortunately dies rather fast. Still an ok brew.

The new 2009 Kerasus, bottle @ the brewery. Pours dark red, hazy. Very astringent nose, cherries & oakwood aroma’s. Terrific acidity, but well balanced. Very good, very drinkable.

Draft @ redlight redlight. Pours clear ruby, no head, some champagne bubbles. Cherry nose, musty cherry pie spices, a little cardboard. In flavor, cherries, cherry pie spiciness, a little grain, cardboard, lightly tart. Slightly watery body, a bit drying. Overall rather thin and insubstantial. I was underwhelmed after having had so many other good to great beers from Alvinne.

Pours clear dark red with a light pink head that did not stay. Aroma of sour fruits, cherries, grapes. Flavors of sour fruits, red berries, and little watery. Low carbonation with some sourness, and little watery finish. Something is missing here.

BigMomma (213) - Leuven, BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2010
UPDATED: APR 19, 2011 33cl bottle lot 280 at home. Clear red color with a little white head of small bubbles that dissapears quickly and doesn’t come back. This reminds me of a red wine. Aroma is full of sweet cherry’s, wood and a little bit acetic. Taste is full of sweet cherry and some weak vinegar. Body is very light with little carbonization. Nice refreshing beer.
