Bottle, vintage 2009. A lot of yeast in the bottle. Nice dark red color, small head. Quite sour aroma of cherries and soil. Sour taste of cherries, wood, soil, semi sweet. A lot of carbonation. Drinkable but not that exciting, a bit watery mouth feel. The aftertaste was rather long and dry.

On tap at Churchkey. Cloudy burgundy pour. Nose holds BIG balsamic vinegar, tart plums, slight almond sweetness, lots of dark fruit, and vinous notes. Flavor holds big tannin, wine, and even a touch of roast in there? Very tart and quite sour. I like it.

Scopey (1652) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2012
Bottle from Bier Tempel, Brussels. It pours cloudy red, with a thin off-white head. The nose is farmyard, cherry, red grape and vinegar. The taste is tart cherry, lemon, red apple and red grape, with a pleasantly tart finish. Light to medium body and fine, sort carbonation. Light, smooth and refreshing. Not particularly complex, but massively drinkable.

Deep, red body. Off-white to pink head. Strong, intense aroma of cherries. Lightly sweet, quite balanced flavour. Flavour is not too sweet, quite dry instead. Good fruit beer. Quite simple but full flavour of cherries.
