4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 tdtm82 (666) - Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2010
Wow, really impressed with this one. VIntage 2009 acquired from Alvinne’s e-shop. 33cl bottle. Poured into Westmalle glass, thought the cherries’ etching would compliment this beer!
Minimal head which disappears leaving a wild cherry image. Opaque and murky. Aroma of intense cherries and tart, stunningly blended. Really intoxicating with a slight tart edge. Lovely. Can taste cherries, tart, a small amount of acid, wild berries, some candy sugar and sharp fizzy finish. The flavour of the cherries is fantastic, really full bodied, some warming alcohol and a long finish. The malts are quite sweet but I’m really enjoying this. Would like to have this oak aged in the barrel from a dispenser. Really excellent.

On draft at brick store. Pours a murky brown pink with a creamy off white head. Nose is wood, vinegar, malt, & tart fruit with cherry. Flavor is similar with a medium to full body and all kinds of awesome.

A Mes rate. Bottle at the brewery. Damn Glenn, I was not expecting this. Straight out of the bottle this looks fantastic. An awesome candy apple red colour with an impressive tight pink head. Beautiful. Aroma, my god this is good one. This is only quite young but already it is starting to sing. Fresh and luscious. Sniffable in the extreme. The flavour is a stunning full cherry hit. Gloriously fresh with some wonderful green grassy stuff in there too. Amazing length on the cherries that lasts and lasts and develops a wonderful sourness that will eventually become more pronounced. God it is lovely. Once the wild yeast really kicks in this is going to be incredible. Amazingly clean mouthfeel. Stunning stuff chaps.

Draft at Rattle N Hum. Pours a bronze body with a white head. Fruity fresh pear with hints of banana’s. Drinking this beer is like biting into one of the most lush pears fresh and absolutely delicious. Pear skins and nectar with a dry tart finish. Awesome brew!
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 24, 2008
Intense pink head over clear, ruby-red beer. Cherry nose, cherry skins & kernels, slight lactic nose, but essentialy fruity. Just love it - and now put REAL in front of every time I’ve used the word ’’cherry’’, please. Dry, but quite fruity cherry flavour, some slight cookie malts behind. Lipsmacking cherries’ finish. Mineral water quality, spritzy, refreshing. Excellent fruitbeer by Alvinne. In fact, both among the best ever tasted from this brewery, and among the best not-lambic based kriekbieren available.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (4540) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JAN 3, 2010
Dark maroon color, slightly thin, with a two bubble head that disappears quickly.
Aroma is of chocolate covered cherries and roasted malts, some vanilla in the background.
Flavor has more cherries than beer, with a slightly sour finish.
Body is a bit on the thin side, but decent.
Nice brew, but needs better balance. The 2009 batch was made with cherry mash - the batch brewed for release in 2010 was made with whole cherries, and should be a considerable improvement.
