500 ml bottle at home. Pours black with a tiny tiny tiny head. Incredibly mellow Maker’s Mark (or Wild Turkey?) nose: vanilla, sweet chocolate, sweet cherries, and the nicest ever coffee aroma. Light body with medium sweetness and weird sour notes. The initial malt base seems a bit too light for the cask strength which renders the taste rather akward. Once a bit warmed up, the beer reveals a subtle yet unique balance...

Bottle sample @ BAB’14.

Bottle, shared with friends. Massive gusher! Pours a pitch black beer with a small brown head on top. Aroma has some bourbon notes, smoke, oak and roasted malts. Flavor is medium sweet, some licorice, bourbon notes and some slight caramel going on. Has some big sweet notes in the aftertaste, which lasts fairly long. Nice beer, too bad for the gusher.

Bottle shared at the Pre-Zwanze. It pours darkest brown with a thick tan head. The nose is roasty, toast, green apple, pear, sherbet, berry, vanilla, fudge and wood. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, apple, pear, melon, blackcurrant, blueberry, jam, caramel, cocoa, cola and wood. Full body and fairly high carbonation. A solid Imperial stout.

75cl bottle at Bruce’s, thanks to Paul. It pours a deep dark brown colour with a huge beige head. Big gusher. Aroma is intense red berries, cherries, wood and oak. Chocolate as well. Taste is sweet acidic with a quite bitter finish. Cocoa and nuts with some dark fruits. Mouthfeel is full with good carbonation. Overall, very very good.
