3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The íblack handí, with a thick and moussy, sticky head and very dark mahogany colour, practically black. Aroma of toffee, coffee grounds, candied dates, old íjeneverí, dried plums, raisins, figs, caramel and - unfortunately - some red cabbage (DMS). Some dark fruits in the mouth on a thick chocolatey and nutty malt base, gin-like warming alcohol and a frim peppery hop bitterness in the finish, long and dry. Not bad at all but I preferred their Podge.

Great body and great foam..Mango is more in the aroma than in the taste. The taste now is a classic imperial stout with its bitterness, maybe from dark chocolate, combined with the sweetness of mango.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
It has very rich, deep and intense aroma. The are a notes of port wine, dark malts, a bit of brandy and a bit of cherry. Itís completely dark, non-transparent, with small head. In taste itís coffee sour but the coffee bitterness is endless in aftertaste. Itís quite strongly carbonated and drinkable for a imperial stout. Has rather small body but alcohol is covered and hidden completely.

33 CL bottle had been chilled for a couple of hours. When opened it gushed like a fountain. I could only retrieve some from the copious foam. Colour : charcoal black. For a supposedly high ABV stout the taste was rather ordinary. I donít know what else to say: Iím feeling generous with the scoring. Do not get your wallet out for this one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with lots of sediment from the bottle. Quite a funky aroma. Some vegetables, light tartness. Texture is quite thick and oily. Initial tartness, then earthy. Background of dark malts and liquorice.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Yeah, a slow gusher that wantís out of the bottle. Looks nice in the glass with a big frothy lacing brown top under a deep dark brown body absolutely filled with tons of sediments and floaters. Smells nice. Light licorice and roasted touches. I get a little bit of coffee acidity and dusty cellar. Not to extreme but actually quite fair. It tastes quite good actually this. Itís loaded with woody barreled tanninís and red wine. Itís not to affected by the gushing when having it in the mouth as it has a mild oily mouthffeel and a just below average bubble level. Dry cocoa darkness with a quite interesting acidity finishing this one off. Yeah, itís quite a interesting one this. Lots of flavor. 15.01.2014

Tap@ZBF 2014-ZO. Sedate coffee, dry caramel and liquorice aromas unfold gently, straightforwardly in the taste profile. Finish heavy on dark chocolate bitters and liquorice with a herbal tang, barring most sweetness- all in all balanced and enjoyable. Luxuriously seamy mouthfeel.
