Bourbon barrel-aged Melchior, very limited. Thick, creamy head over a deep copper beer with orange hue, hazy. Complex sweet and spicy bouquet, appetizing, white grapes, gooseberry, pear, vanilla, pepper, cloves, candi syrup and indeed bourbon, wood. Fruity, full taste, apricot, pear, grapes, caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness, becoming more complex in the finish with tannins, woody dryness, floral hops and agreeable, whisky-like alcohol warmth. The wood ageing clearly did this beer good, a very fine barley wine this is.

Appearance: hazy amber with a good beige head. of 1,5 finger ok retention
Aroma: caramel, toffee, dried fruit, vanilla, wood and bourbon
Taste:.Medium Sweet vanillaa with hay folloowed by oak and allmonds with some caramel which finishes dry more bitter and alcoholic. The switch in palate is abit harsh from sweet to harsh dry.which is not for eveyone.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2014 500 ml bottle at home. Barreled on Wild Turkey and/or Maker’s Mark I reckon. Anyhow - it’s good! Vanilla, tart fruit and fruity barrel notes (chestnut, caramel...). Nice medium body, a tad alcohol heat, but rich flavours.

Bottled. Pours amber with a small, laicing beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, dried fruit, vanilla, wood and bourbon notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. Medium to full bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft carb. An excellent barley.

Soft gusher, big fizzy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, sugar, hay, oak, mild sweet bourbon, almond essence. Taste is sweet and harsh, mild sweet bourbon, almond essence, hay, oak, weeds, caramel. Medium bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Meh!

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Deep cloudy amber body with a small white head. Nose is vanilla, oak, mild bourbon tones, alcohol and hints of caramel and fruity esters. Taste is burnt sugar, vanilla, caramel, mild bourbon tones, oak and hints of sugars. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice, though not outstanding.

Pours a coppery with a large fluffy head. Aroma is slightly alcoholic, sweet malty, oak and bourbon. Taste is moderate sweet, with light wood and light toast. Medium to full bodied with medium co2 levels.

Bottle. Bourbon barrel taste light, aroma marzipan bit, very smooth and easy to drink. Fruity, rich and full. Bit sweet, Was quite toasted at this stage. Seems like I liked it.

Copper colour with an off white head that quickly diminishes, dissapearing in a few minutes. Aroma is strong bourbon and barrels, notes of caramel and toffee, red fruits are also present. Flavor is dominated by bourbon from the beginning to the end; red ripe fruits are present woth intense notes of caramel and raisins, moderate sweet at the beginning with a final mild bittery with medium duration. The final is dominated by bourbon notes and some toffee and caramelish hints with a good duration in the mouth.
