Sampled @ Haand 2013. Practically clear golden body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, perfume (Bourbon) and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and alcoholic, some acidity, wood and quite dominating Bourbon. Full body and alcoholic aftertaste. Very nice in smaller amounts, otherwise pretty heavy.

Foffern (1362) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours a hazy deep mahogny colour with a big whipped eggwhite-like beige head which fades fast. The aroma is filled with leather, dried fruit, liqour and with some oak, vanilla, rye bread and sweet malt. The flavour is still pretty sweet with a lot of alcohol. Slick mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. I think the ale lacks complexity, and there’s too much alcohol touch in my opinion.

Found back tasting notes from Borets Festival 2012. Only putting them in now. APPEARANCE: peach colored beer, small head. NOSE: vanilla immediately noticeable, wood, reminded me a little of white wine though. TASTE: very strong alcoholic aftertaste, lots and lots of vanilla, somewhat out of balance for me.

Sampled from tap at Haandøl 2013. Clear nut golden body with an off-white film. Honey, rock sugar and bourbon notes with acetone disturbing some. Sweet flavor, especially honey, but also noticable alcohol. Full bodied, syrupy and alco warm. Pretty heavy stuff.

ZBF Festival 2013 - Pale brown. The initial impact of this one is it’s thin body and lack of carbonation. The warming bourbon/alcohol is very prominent and also gives some vanilla sweetness to and increasingly dry finish.
