4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 17thfloor (2300) - Chicago, USA - JAN 20, 2010
Small bottle thanks to GlennC! Wow, I can already tell I’m going to love this, these are my favorite types of beers. Pours a clear bright orange with a fine fizzy white bubbly froth. Aroma is fantastic! bright juicy orange tangerine, very bright, notes of vanilla with a great bourbon note, love it! Flavor is same but just a tad hot, juicy tangerine, very bourbon forward which is fine by my, has enough bright citrus to make it really nicely offset. Medium/light bodied with sharp carbonation a bit sugary. I really really really love this beer!
3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2011
9/12/8/12/13/13
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUL 13, 2011
Tasting at Papsø Hazy deep blond color. The aroma has some spicy yeast and Bretts; whisky? Maybe, but not really Bourbon. The flavor is a strange combination of soft Bretts, distillate alcohol, light spicy Belgian yeast, very light vanilla and citrusy stuff. The final is quite burning. More chaotic than good, no focus.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 oh6gdx (15955) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2011
Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks G.V.!). Hazy goldeny pale amber colour with a mediumsized creamy head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is sour wooden along with some vanilla, bourbon and sweet maltyness. Flavour is sweet malts, wood, mild boubon, some vanilla and also some tartness. Wellbalanced and hides the alcohol very well.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 23, 2010
(Bottled) Tartness and wet wood in the nose with pale maltiness and aromatic hops. Lightly vinous flavor with pale malt, tartness, some sugar, vanilla, pear and lime notes, not too sweet. Alcohol fully hidden. I would call this a success - quite balanced and enjoyable. 4467
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 womencantsail (3927) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - AUG 10, 2010
A: The pour is a slightly hazy golden straw color with a bit of yeast sediment finding its way into the glass.
S: Quite a bit of bright fruit notes in the nose. I pick up some apples, pears, lemons, and maybe even some white grapes. The bourbon/vanilla is subtle, as is the oak.
T: The fruit character is just as prevalent on the palate. The bourbon comes through a bit more and provides a bit of warmth and some vanilla flavor. Lots of white grapes and apples really stand out and keep this one "light" for such a strong beer.
M: The body is surprisingly light (in a good way) for such a potent beer. Good carbonation, which I was not expecting either.
D: This was dangerously easy to drink. I think I was the only person that was a real big fan of this one at the tasting, but I thought it was quite interesting, especially compared to American bourbon barrel beers.

Cloudy golden with a medium off white head. Aroma had barnyard, wood and malty notes. Sweet flavour with barnyard, malt, caramel, wood, vanilla and bourbon notes. Finished sweet. Reminded me of a sweet Gueuze.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - APR 3, 2010
Bottled. A hazy golden with a bit of sediment floating around under a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of brettanomyces, wood, stable, and lemon - reminding me of a gueuze. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, brettanomyces, wood, and citrusy hops as well as light notes of bourbon, leading to a lightly bitter finish. A very delicate beer. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.
